My plan is to get this phone for $300 at checkout and then cancel my contract (paying an ETF of $200) and keeping the phone for a total cost of $500 to use on the walmart $30 tmo prepaid plan.
I figured that paying for 2 months of service ($60/mo x 2 months waiting for the rebate =$120 + tax) will cost me more than what I am getting back from the rebate ($120+tax > $100 rebate) if i plan on canceling anyway. Am I missing anything here? Can I get by with that... maybe i'll have to pay $60 (classic talk 500mins @$40 + 2gb highspeed unlimited dated @$20) for the first month. summary: $300 for the phone w/o the rebate after CA tax ~ $330 $200 ETF - $200 Total - $530 paying for the first month's service $60 grand total - $590 for Tmo branded note II. Am i missing anything? what do you guys think? |

looks like they updated/edited the web only discount condition : only with a web plan of atleast 20$
In order to break the contract with ETF, you need to have service for atleast one billing cycle. If thats correct, tack another 130 gizmos to your total for which i think you can buy the phone directly from any retailer with no contract. Last edited by mmetal; 12-09-2012 at 08:01 AM.. I went for it. After reading the terms, it seems like I can return everything within the first month here in CA minus the first month's fees and possible restocking fee. If I decide to keep the phone and pay ETF it may or may not require that I go through an entire billing cycle first because of the 30 day return period here in CA for Tmo vs 14 days or so in other states. So with the first month's bill included it'll cost ~$590 for the Tmo branded Note II + 1 month's service. I'm planning on sending in the rebate anyway and ending my service before the second billing cycle begins. They would prorate the second month's bill, wouldnt' they? Maybe I'll luck out and they would have processed my rebate by then. $490 for a Tmo Note II would be nice but very lucky but I wouldn't bet on it. |

http://slickdeals.net/f/5672070-B...-contract? Any thoughts? I don't have any experience with straight talk, ATT, T-mobile, etc so I'm not sure how this will work... Which carrier should i get? |
