that went fast.
and i hate how people talk about the past thinking some deals will be like that again.. maybe if you can find a deal for a delorian, mr fusion conversion, and a flux capacitor, you can go back in time and get more of those deals back then so there isn't any complaint in the present. ok ok im just jealous cause i missed that $40 deal with the chat pad, points, mic, etc !!!!!! Sorry a bit strayed away from the topic... I just bought my son a new XBox so I'm new here... And I have this question for a long time:
What does this "Gold" card can do in addition to the free regular one? I saw in store on the card it said I can then enjoy Netflix, Hulu..., but I still have to have these services separately paid, right? With so many free choices being on computer, smart-TV, bluray player, smart phone/tablet, PS3/Wii and other many boxes, I don't get it why I have to pay "Gold" membership in order to get access to Netflix on XBox? I simply feel being ripped off... I also heard that "Gold" allows me to play online multi-player games,...What? I thought this should be free as well, it's free on PSN and many PC games, not mentioned games on phone/tablets. Counting this "Gold" membership cost, it could be ways more expensive than others over years on top the cost of games/media.... Am I right? Can anyone help to explain more about the benifits of being "Gold"? My son wants it but he's not sure either... Thanks! |

On a philosophical note, I agree with you regarding your feeling of being ripped off. Requiring a Gold subscription to be able to stream a service you already pay for is what some would call "merde". PSN allows you to stream Netflix entirely free (as their online service is free). All in all, if you want to play multiplayer games and stream, you need the Gold subscription. |

[QUOTE=McPiddles;55793674]You do have to have a subscription to Netflix/Hulu Plus separately to be able to stream.
Picked one up earlier today...got it just in time I guess...Been looking for this for a few months and missed the last one when it was 39.00.. This was a better deal and glad I waited. My Sub is up in Jan |

I'm new here on Slickdeals. I have had Xbox Live for 3 years now, paying $50 - $60 every renewal.
How would I use this card? Would I have to cancel my automatic renewal with Xbox (which is coming in Feb. '13)? and instead order this $35 card with code and manually apply code??? Help please. |

youll learn to be quick on deals like this as they're usually limited and im pretty sure this one is dead already. search around for other threads that might be a dollar or two more expensive but still alive. Last edited by pelotudo; 12-08-2012 at 08:08 AM.. |

I purchased the 12month xbox live digital code from Newegg for $40 early last night and never recieved my code. Then got a call from random 800 number today at 9am saying they wanted to cnfirm purchase. So I called and after 20min was able to reach thier "verification" dept...and told they are now verifing all digital code orders via phone. WTF? SO I still don't have my code just a fifth email from Newegg saying my payment has been charged. All in all a very disappointing experience and not to mention waste of my time. Newegg....if your reading this, 30min of my time is worth more than any money I saved! I doubt I will ever oreder from Newegg again.
