they are making all the TV's in the 500 dollar range except the one I want!!! DO IT FRYS!!!!

This was $500 at Costco (TC-P50U54) over Thanksgiving. I would expect the price of this to come down further around Christmas.

Probably the best bang for buck TV out there though. If you have controlled lighting I would not hesitate to get on this deal. Unfortunately it is quite reflective though.

Good analysis. I would add that while it is reflective, I wouldn't necessarily say that its more reflective than, say, my friends 2007 Panasonic Plasma.

Very nice deal. I bet this goes out of stock for shipping early afternoon today.

No tax for a lot of folks makes this nearly good as the fleeting costco black friday deal. Better if you don't have a vehicle to haul that size screen around. I didn't have the nerve to wait for a post xmas price drop, as this tv got a very positive review on CNET and seems like demand has been strong - amazon hasn't had stock for weeks.

I don't know how the free standard shipping works, but beware. Dell shipped this tv to me via UPS ground and it showed up with a shattered screen in spite of the box being in good shape.

I have a 42" Panasonic plasma from 2006 with the same reflection/glare issue. It just discourages any potential daytime TV viewing, which isn't neccessarily a bad thing.

Well no, actually, but thanks for playing. Plasma's are very sensitive to being bounced around when they're flat, so I'm guessing it fell over in the truck.

It was a joke... Most people would "claim" the same thing if they damaged it while setting it up. Thus the face.

Side note. If you live in a state where there are no Fry's, this TV tax free and FS makes it a really good deal for a fantastic picture!

Do you think we will see even deeper price cuts closer to the Super Bowl? I'm hesistant to buy a Panasonic after mine of 3 years blew the the control board and cost $300 to repair and Panasonic refused help supply the board if I cover labor.

Agreed, I don't watch much TV in the day anyway. Even so, with the great viewing angle that this TV has it isn't difficult to move/rotate the TV so there is no glare.

I bought one from Amazon and when they delivered it - cracked screen

Ran down to Costco and got in on the deal@$499 which comes with the 2 year warranty and then paid the $29.99 for Square Trade extended warranty out to 5 years

PS - I use AmEx for all purchases like this to extend the factory warranty anyways and for the ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE protection (dropped tv, etc)

Is this the same deal that's been posted like 3 times already or a different one? I'm losing track with all the duplicates.
