Got one of these a couple of years ago on a similar deal.

The tree is great.

The blanket is kinda useless. it's the right length but it's only like 6" wide so you really can't wrap it around the base.

These seem to get more and more advanced each year, I only have a very basic one from a while back with no sound or blanket for that matter. Regardless though these are very cute buys, I have mine up in my office and you should see all my coworker's expressions when they look at it lol.

drove to my local Walgreens. the non music version was clearly priced on the box art at $9.99. next to it was the music version priced at $14.99. I don't know how your mom got it for $9.99 so she got a good deal. shouldn't be YMMV cause the pricing is part of the box art. triple bummer.
