Yes, you may set the laptop to a lower res than the native res. That will make everything seem bigger and easier to read. Alternately, you may also increase font size by a certain percentage using a windows setting (that covers fonts rendered primarily by OS directly - not other apps). However, have you ever really tried to do this? Most monitors work best at native resolutions. If I know I never need more than 1600x900 in a 13" laptop, it will be best to just go for a laptop that has the same native resolution.

Not dimwits, just probably an older gentleman/gentlewoman who has less than ideal eyesight and no need or opportunity to utilize the higher resolution display. I have a lot of clients that get nice 23" monitors but then put the resolution down just because they feel more comfortable.

But yes, I'm way pumped for this resolution display. Side by side windows for data comparison or drag and drop excellent.

It's especially vital for Adobe applications that work best with multiple panels open simultaneous (for dragging between them).
