Anyone has one? I had one and used it but had to cancel the order as I chose the wrong plan. And they don't enable back the coupons from cancelled orders. Help appreciated. Thanks.

NEVER buy extended warranties on electronics. The math does not work. Instead, save the money you would have put into extended warranties and pay for any repairs or replacements out of your own pocket. You'll save plenty of money over the years.

Also, see if any of your credit cards offer an extended warranty feature if you use their card to buy the item. Some will double the manufacturer's warranty for up to a year for free just for simply using their card to make your purchase.

this is correct for nearly all things. some electronics or methods of destruction are not covered by extended CC warranties, though. Just be sure you know what your coverage entails.

Thanks. Manufacturer warranties does not provide accidental coverage and that is one of the main reason I buy external warranties for phones and tablets. But in case of other products like TVs, I know that my AmEx or Discover provides extended warranties which is fine and usually doesn't require accidental coverage.

I just got my full money back from a 2 year old Asus laptop that went bust... Do you still think external warranties are junk?

Good question. Yes, extended warranties on electronics are still trash. Here's why: an anecdotal example does not outweigh the overwhelming evidence.

well it was worth the $60 for a 3 yr warranty IMHO now I have money to upgrade I have been doing this with all my laptops since recent evidence suggests that they don't make them like they used to.

I will think about it- I have three or four codes for the 40% - not sure I will use them all

Maybe worth it for products that have a history of failing but was a steal of a deal, like the Sony 3D Display for $100, the $20 warranty for 3 years would probably be worth it.
