Tried calling loyalty quite a few times was unable to get them to budge on price for this as an upgrade to an existing line. Also, the customer service has declined over the years. I must say though, I have tmobile for my personal phone and att for my work phone and they still are cheaper rates and better customer service than att. I think Im gonna be better off upgrading my iPhone 4 work phone to a 5 and just get my 4 unlocked for my tmobile line.

Their customer service is horrible by design right now. T-Mobile just laid off nearly their entire US staff after the failed merger with AT&T. They've gone so far as to even close the majority of the Network Operation Centers. What they're doing instead is selling their infrastructure and their facilities to AT&T on the down low to get around the DOJ blocking the merger. T-Mobile will eventually just be an AT&T reseller of sorts with leased AT&T equipment, and if they bankrupt --they still sold off the network... |

The price difference between monthly service on a subsidized phone and pay monthly is 80/month, so over the life of the contract it will cost you almost 1900 for the phone. Something tells me it may be cheaper to buy the phone unsubsidized then use the pay monthly service

Microsoft's ad blitz is getting a lot of people to give Windows Phone a second (or first) look, which is a nice first step in winning developer mindshare, but if the entire WP8 run gains 10% of the market in the US, I'll be flabbergasted. A 10% marketshare platform is one developers will consider eventually (even without Microsoft's checkbook,) but it won't be the first platform they develop a new app for. As far as the OS itself, I think it's missing one major thing -- a unified notification center. The idea be to have your lock screen be your notification center, and have all other notifications appear on your pinned tiles. I still think it needs one, and one may be in the works for the mid-2013 update. Even though I'm being a little bit critical, it's obvious I'm completely in-the-tank for Windows Phone (check the avatar! ) The people who choose Windows Phone are those who value the overall OS experience, and don't need to be the first to have the new apps, because that's not going to happen anytime in the near future. The biggest hooks WP has for it right now are Windows 8 - Helps win some developer mindshare with the unified Win8/WP8 developer platform. Even though the install base of Win8 is tiny compared to Win7, it's gigantic compared to Windows Phone. When developers make a Win8 app, it becomes very easy to port to WP8. XBOX 360 - XBOX fans may respond to XBOX Windows Phone branded app games with achievement points. Tiles - They're the new "rounded corners!" Consumers may respond to the tile interface spanning all Microsoft brands. Lies, damned lies, and contrast ratios.

Their tower lease deal is for 28 years, at which point the lessee has the option to buy the towers, so I'm thinking Deutsche Telekom's exit plan is exactly 28 years. Which doesn't mean that T-Mobile will no longer exist, it will just be under public ownership. |

Slavery to AT&T? Nope. Trying to backdoor around a DOJ block on the real reason behind the merger (getting out of the US and selling AT&T the assets that matter)? Yup. |

Must be close-of-business east coast time, or something.

But what do I know? I couldn't know people who used to work at the vacant building that used to be a Network Operations Center down the street from me or anything.... This is the weakest phone in the WP8 lineup. You're better off getting something else. Last edited by Dillweed; 12-10-2012 at 06:59 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |
