Even at $60 it is not a good buy because you can get other ninjago sets at a better deals like the smaurai robot for $28 with 430 pieces that too from US amazon in time for X'mas.

actually I bought two of the epic dragon battle sets and the estimated delivery is dec 17th from amazon uk.. and I live in california

All Ninjago mechanize are in the same boat. The creators dropped the ball. If you did see the last episode then you would realize why suddenly kids have lost interest in Ninjago.

My son has not yet seen the last episode but it amazes me that Lego has not capitalized on this franchise. All stores we go to are out of stock of this stuff. The Lego catalogs have one page dedicated to this but all his friends in school are all into this. He is 7 and when we got to any store the Ninjago area is cleared out except for the common toons.

Yes, it is a shame. My kids after watching the last few episodes, were waiting for the "Golden ninja" , "Golden dragon", new Kai, Jay, Zane, Cole mini figures with the black tint in all costumes, their new weapons, the ultimate spinjutsu master, etc Lego boxes. But none have come out.

I was in Walgreens a few weeks ago, and the Ninjago characters with their spinners were marked to be discontinued (in their internal database). Note: Back in Oct/Nov, Green Ninja was in high demand is no were to be found. And it still sells for > $30 on Amazon/EBay (instead of $12 MSRP).

There was such a huge demand, but since the story has ended, which ever kids (including me :-) have seen the end of the story have lost interest, somewhat. And it will diminish. We used to wait every Wednesday for a new episode.

The in thing is Hobbit and Ninjago is out. But it doesn't mean I will not buy the Ninjago set (e.g. Lego Samurai Mech for $28) for my 4 year old. My 10 year old is old enough to be not interested, now.

That is an accurate statement.

There are six more Ninjago sets coming out in Jan, but that will be it for the line. It more or less is being replaced with a new line call Legends of China.

Yeah it's a shame that the most violent line Lego makes is going away. A real shame. I hope they make more sets that have even more dangerous looking weapons so I can buy them for my young children.
