I was thinking maybe the I5 would be faster in every day use for launching programs and possibly better battery life. The only thing I can say I dislike about my current laptop would be the finish shows up finger prints which is slightly annoying.
I assume the Hd4000 (which I think this one comes with) Would be adequate for playing movies and general web viewing etc
Obviously the newer computer is better and faster (if you look at benchmarks, the processor is about twice as powerful). The question is do you really want/need to upgrade yet or would you rather wait a year or two. An SSD would probably yield a more noticeable performance improvement.
They way you describe your usage, I'd probably try to wait a year or two.
