You mean an internal dvd drive? it will increase the thickness and weight and I don't think it's worth it. plus you can purchase a $20 external DVD drive separately when it's on sale.
No he means external. This notebook doesn't have an internal DVD drive but this deal comes with an external DVD drive. This is good if you plan on using CD or DVD's at all. If you don't use those for anything then it doesn't make a difference. I consider it a plus that it comes with one.
I wonder how the battery life is on this. I also ordered the asus ultrabook yesterday and am thinking of cancelling it just because of the poor reliability issues on that model. after 90 days it would end up being a hit or miss.

This price is a steal for what should be a great laptop. I ordered one from Amazon through tiger direct (to avoid tax) for 505.63 and I thought that was an awesome price. Ordered it on the 29th of Nov and at the time Amazon also had some in stock for 500. If you wait around you can sometimes catch it for this price but they sell out pretty quick so make sure to jump on it if you're thinking about getting one. I still have yet to use it since it's expected to come in on Monday (shipping is sloooow), but from what I've read it seems like a bargain of a laptop.
Like others have said this model has the faster chip in it compared to the Best Buy one so no point in getting the crappier version. Also, the battery is NOT removable, so you can't pop in a spare if you're running out of juice, which may be important for some people. Though, replacing it when it can't hold charge any longer can be done if you have some slight tech knowledge. Also the RAM is NOT upgradable, which is a shame. So 4 gb is all you'll ever have. Despite these shortcomings imo there is no better laptop out there with these specs (windows 8, touch screen, and ultra portable i3). I agree with others and wish the screen would fold like a tablet, but the only one I know of that is somewhat close to this price is the Lenovo Twist which is around 800. To me it's not worth the extra 300.
Touch is one of those things that isn't needed, but there is definitely no harm in having it. Windows 8 supposedly is made for the touch interface and I think a lot of programs and apps etc will be coming out in the future that will take advantage of it.
Sorry for such a long 1st post, hope it helped someone!
