Thanks for the response. Welp, they should've called me then when they got more in stock. However, I called last Friday (12/21) and they didn't have any in stock. Go figure...I think they lied to me so I would just get it off ASUS's site. Lame, but what can you do? |

I had an iPad 3 and a VIVO Tab RT. I actually hardly use the iPad 3. The VIVO Tab RT doesn't replace my laptop for work or where I really need to be productive but where I would normally use my iPad, it is a lot more convenient. The ipad is strictly a consumption device for me to watch videos, read websites and view photos. With the VIVO Tab RT, I find myself being productive with a tablet and doing things I wouldn't ordinarily do on my iPad because I hate typing on a touch screen. |

I was able to get Best Buy to price match their Asus Vivo Tab bundle (SKU # 7039173) for $399. There is a Microsoft Store about 25 miles from my house with a Best Buy that is 3 miles away from it. The MS Store had several of the tablets in stock and at least 1 keyboard (the store would not tell me the exact quantity of each). I had to spend about a half hour on the phone with BB customer support (who called the MS Store to confirm price and availability), but much to BB's credit they came through. A local BB had it in stock, so the phone order was set up for in-store pickup.
I've only spent a day or so with this, and while I find a lot of things interesting about Windows RT, I can only conclude that for now iOS and Android need not worry. I am tech savvy, but there are things about Windows RT (and I assume Windows 8 too) that are just bewilderingly awkward. Overall build quality of the tablet and keyboard is pretty good. I will be keeping this for a little while. Last edited by cybernevets; 12-31-2012 at 10:22 AM.. |

That being said for the most part it's a pleasure to use. I love the edge swipes and the gestures. The home screen is very nice to navigate and is fluid. Switching between apps is easy and having two on the same screen makes some multitasking possible. I actually like access to the desktop environment since it allows me to use File Explorer and access every other computer on my network. The user experience I think is fantastic and as long as they can clean a few niggling performance issues I think they have a winner on their hands. I don't think they'll pass Apple anytime soon but I can see them surpassing Android. Google has been making tablets much longer yet I don't think they've captured the market the way they've wanted to. Besides the Nexus 7 I don't think any other of their tablets have a clear head and shoulders advantage over the competition. Even with all that time they still struggle with tablet specific apps compared to Apple as well. I could definitely see them being surpassed by Microsoft after the next iteration of Windows tablets. |

Anyone remember the BM holiday return policy. I purchased one for my fiance and she's decided its not for her. She's partial to windows 7 and was frustrated by a few trackpad issues and the fact that windows 8 does not allow her to divide the screen equally unless in desktop modes. In any event, I'm going to return and the holiday return policy would be helpful. Thanks!
