Deal Details

Target has 3DS XL Bundle pack + $20 GC, price match to Best Buy @ $159.99 for net price of $139.99 after giftcard! Don't forget to use your Red Card for 5% off...
http://www.target.com/p/nintendo-...3&term=3ds xl

I went to two different Best Buy locations this morning looking for:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Ninte...8816654178
Neither had it in stock, so I went over to Target to price match.

FYI, per Target price match policy this holiday season, you only need the printout from Best Buy (Don't need the full ad). If they try to deny you the giftcard ask for manager.

Long live SD!

So can I just print out the online page and go to my local Target? Or do I need an actual flyer?
You technically don't need anything though a flyer shows you've attempted to help them with the process, 4th quarter rollout gave a majority of Targets an iPad at Guest services in which the team member has to verify themselves on the iPad.

Amazon hasn't had Nintendo hardware in a year or two. Won't happen.

Thanks. I pulled up the sale on my phone, glad I did too. My local Target said their iPad was down or wasn't working or something. Anyway, they scanned the 3DS XL, then the $20 gift card. Then the girl went to another office off to the side, presumably to ask a manager or something, then came back, knocked off $40, and boom, I was sold. $164.xx with tax + I got the $20 GC. Wife is currently going through the settings and seems quite happy Smilie.

Just wondering on the PM, if you just buy it first with the gift card, wouldn't it be easier to take that receipt and get it PM'ed at the cs desk? You already have the gift card and they would just need to PM the price down. Imo that looks less confusing?

If it doesn't work out just return it.

It may be, but register prompts them for GC before they can enter the price for the price match. That is why it seems most of the time they just do it. I can see them asking for GC back if do separate trip

Target in Phx, AZ was a go. Here's what I did to get the deal

Walked directly to the electronics section to see if they had any of the 3DS XL MK7 Bundles in stock, in which they did. Located a sales clerk and she rung up the bundle with processing the $20 GC at the $199 price. Then I handed her the printed BB ad from the site.

Next, we went up to customer service to process the PM at the BB sale price and it prompted the clerk to get Mgr approval to complete the transaction. Both of them started looking over printed ad to see if indicated anywhere that the item was not in stock. At this point I was like "Sh*t, here we go" Reluctantly, the Mgr approved the BB PM to complete the transaction for the bundle @$159 plus tax with the $20 GC.

Thanx, SDealers!!!

As a Guest Service Team Lead at Target this is my experience, The price should be honored that's not an issue. The issue lies in, once you price match Bestbuy's price of $159.99 you're disregarding Targets promotion of "$199.99+ $20GC" and taking on Bestbuys of $159.99. Don't be surprised if you're refused the Giftcard once price matching to Bestbuy because that's simply just how it works. Price matching is disregarding Targets promotion and taking on anothers while showing loyalty to Target by buying it there. Not to say a little ignorant arguing won't go along way and the manager will cave and give you a giftcard.

That is total bullsh*t.... Loyalty? To a store? Ohhh boy, they really got you brainwahed, haven't they....

I go to buy items where I guest the best deals. If they're going to match the price, but not respect the promotion of the giftcard, what is the point of actually going to your store to get the pricematch in the first place? To spend more on gas? If you're not giving me any additional benefit/reason, I would just buy at the store that originally had the deal, period.

Cool

Couple of questions....is this $159.99 price just today?

Also, I thought Target required a hard copy of the flier from another store....have they changed their policy?

Definitely YMMV deal. Went to Target in East Hanover, NJ this evening. No issues with the price match but they couldn't get it to work with the $20 gift card. 3 sales reps were involved. They didn't balk at the idea of me getting the gift card along with the price match but the register wouldn't let them do it. I had a $5 coupon off toys/electronics so this was a good deal anyway but it would have been very nice to get the extra $20 gift card.

I think that might have worked for me. I would recommend price matching after purchasing as opposed to try to purchase at the CS desk and doing the price match at the same time.

I wonder if the coupon messed it up

No, the coupon was the last thing they added. They just couldn't get the register to give the gift after after the price match. They did try though. Coupon was definitely a non-issue.

While taking advantage of the $10 gc coupon with a $50 purchase, I bought an item which was defective and had to have it exchanged. When I was doing this the line was extremely long and the CS rep just did a return for me without issuing me a partial credit for the gift card. Also when you get a gift card, it denotes it as a coupon on the receipt and just subtracts the gift card amount. So I don't think they would ask you for the gift card back.

Just some observations.
