Target has 3DS XL Bundle pack + $20 GC, price match to Best Buy @ $159.99 for net price of $139.99 after giftcard! Don't forget to use your Red Card for 5% off...
http://www.target.com/p/nintendo-...3&term=3ds xl

I went to two different Best Buy locations this morning looking for:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Ninte...8816654178
Neither had it in stock, so I went over to Target to price match.

FYI, per Target price match policy this holiday season, you only need the printout from Best Buy (Don't need the full ad). If they try to deny you the giftcard ask for manager.

Long live SD!

So can I just print out the online page and go to my local Target? Or do I need an actual flyer?
Print or have them look up online, the ad does not list 3ds xl bundle

Damn, I wonder if I'd make it to my Target a mile away right now. Closes in 25 minutes. I'm really tempted to try tonight, because there's a chance the $20 GC might not work tomorrow as they might catch on or whatever.

You should probably head to your store instead of posting Wink Great deal if you can get the GC.

My Target in Germantown, MD apparently only follows policy instead of realizing common sense. I bought a console (no game pre-loaded) from them about 3 weeks ago....saw everyone talking about this deal, so I went in with the 3DS I bought, the receipt, the target ad, the best buy newspaper ad, AND the printout of the best buy site showing it for $159.99. Even with all that, they still said they couldn't price match because the one in the newspaper didn't have the Mario Kart bundle...All I wanted was to trade the regular console for the one with the game loaded...no deal...so I told them, "You do realize what is about to happen, right? I am about to return this, then use the money to buy it from another store for cheaper." Their bureaucratic stupidity cost them $176.58 and no sale...not that they will go bankrupt from it, but it's just stupid. I went home, tried to get Amazon to price match but they don't carry it, so I settled for buying it from Best Buy. Dumbass Target idiots.

Couple of questions....is this $159.99 price just today?

Also, I thought Target required a hard copy of the flier from another store....have they changed their policy?

Targets "Holiday Price Match Policy" does not require you to bring in the printed ad and they price match some .com stores (best buy, walmart, TRU, and some others). they should have a ipod at the service desk that they use to check competitors ads and online price.

read their holiday price match policy at the service desk to be fully informed as they do not know it and might deny you a PM that they should allow per their policy and you will have to point out where they are inaccurate.

Damn...I didn't think to do that...too late now...I guess I shouldn't assume the employees knew the policy...even though I dealt with 4 different people, including the manager and customer service person.

Just wondering on the PM, if you just buy it first with the gift card, wouldn't it be easier to take that receipt and get it PM'ed at the cs desk? You already have the gift card and they would just need to PM the price down. Imo that looks less confusing?

If it doesn't work out just return it.

It may be, but register prompts them for GC before they can enter the price for the price match. That is why it seems most of the time they just do it. I can see them asking for GC back if do separate trip

I think that might have worked for me. I would recommend price matching after purchasing as opposed to try to purchase at the CS desk and doing the price match at the same time.

I think that the system drops the sale price of the item to adjust for the sale of the gift card when a gift card is bundled with an item, so PMing after the purchase would adjust the price from $189.99 to $169.99, not $209.99 to $169.99.

Recap - PMing after purchase would have you pay $189.99 for the item and the gift card.

PMing at point of purchase is the way to go.

After picking up my order from bb this morning for $159.99 + nj tax and returning my order that I got last week to tru I was satisfied with the deal. After reading through this thread I figured what the hell and gave the pm a shot at target. I just went there 20 mins before closing with a printout from bb.com showing the price and that it was unavailable for shipping and in the 3 closest stores. The young lady in electronics went and got me the mk7 blue 3ds bundle and as we were walking to the register in electronics I mentioned the ad I had with me. She looks at it and proceeds to ring up the 3ds and immediately says this comes with a gift card, scans it and hands it to me. I act suprised and say oh nicee! She then dropped the price to $159.99 I paid and walked out chuckling! laugh out loud Repped

While taking advantage of the $10 gc coupon with a $50 purchase, I bought an item which was defective and had to have it exchanged. When I was doing this the line was extremely long and the CS rep just did a return for me without issuing me a partial credit for the gift card. Also when you get a gift card, it denotes it as a coupon on the receipt and just subtracts the gift card amount. So I don't think they would ask you for the gift card back.

Just some observations.
I think a gift card from a coupon is not attached to any item(s) on the receipt, a gift card bundled with an item is attached to that item and when that item is returned, the return value of that item is reduced by the amount of the gift card.

That is total bullsh*t.... Loyalty? To a store? Ohhh boy, they really got you brainwahed, haven't they....

I go to buy items where I guest the best deals. If they're going to match the price, but not respect the promotion of the giftcard, what is the point of actually going to your store to get the pricematch in the first place? To spend more on gas? If you're not giving me any additional benefit/reason, I would just buy at the store that originally had the deal, period.

Cool
Loyalty is an incorrect word I'll agree with you on that. I mean it in the sense of the store you prefer to shop at, be it because it's close, just don't like other big box stores, or you have the benefit of a Redcard.

So my wife has been enjoying her new 3DS XL for about an hour and a half. I was hesitant about Mario Kart 7 being digital and pre-installed (I like the option to trade/sell my games), but considering the other bundles cost the same, this bundle made the most sense. I did notice that when she registered it on club Nintendo, she didn't get any coins (160 is the reward I think). Anyone else run into issues getting the reward for registering a new system? This is only the second system she's registered on her account, the first being a DS Lite.

Went in with print out of Best Buy price. They took the DS to customer service. Customer service looked up the price using a iPad they have for Price Matching.

Confirmed price and had zero problems giving me the price with the gift card.

So... $199.95 PM to $159.99 WITH a $20 Target GC and I used my Red Card Debt card for another 5% off so total out of pocket was 161.00 (Tax is 6%). Total price after GC = 141.00.

So basically 30 percent off normal retail. Not a bad deal at all.

Hmm. I rushed to Best Buy to get the deal this morning... hopefully stores still have them in stock for price match tomorrow. It would be awfully nice to get the 5% off + gift card!
