Why did you return everything?
I didn't get in on the original deal, but did get some decent stuff. The only problem was 3/4 of it was the wrong size. The other 1/4 was the wrong color or the wrong item all together. Warehouses must have been going bonkers with all these SD orders. I was getting giant boxes with a pair of socks in it. Of course the receipt showed socks and 5 other items...

Yup. I got to go to sears store to get off a security tag from one of the item. But the store employees are nice.

How funny, I hadn't checked everything yet, I have boxes and boxes of clothes for my wife, but I did go through most of mine, and didn't see any tags on mine.

As someone else posted, I'm sure they'll remove if you bring it in with your receipt, and if not, just take off and run out the door with the tags on it for some fun.

Bankofamerica and Citibank have "virtual cards" that you can create off of your main account. In the case of Shopsafe, you can set a limit on it, so if you only wanted up to a dollar to be charged, you'd put a $1 in and it would give you a temp card number, expiration date and security code to use.

actually, google for test CCs. there are card numbers by all the major cc companies that are valid, but have no value to them.

Ah. That said, you're better off going the way I mentioned, as using a CC # that isn't yours could have some serious ramifications.

right. but I've heard stories of companies being able to charge the over the limit on the virtual CCs. plus, they can still track it back to you.

when you're just putting the test cc on your account, I wouldn't say you're actually using it yet. it's something like having a cc that doesn't belong to you in your wallet IMO laugh out loud

and if they illegally try and charge an authorized purchase to you, they can't do a damn thing to your money.

I'm not a lawyer though... laugh out loud

One of my sweaters has it too. Sigh, I am returning everything. I am not going to lie, I got caught up with the slickdeals effect and I had a Sears gift card to burn. I really wanted the points so I could buy stuff from lands end.

It's a pretty difficult argument to say using a "fake", "test", "Unauthorized" credit card online isn't fraud, and that of a serious nature. Why would anyone put a credit card in the system if they weren't going to be charged on it? If you paid with points, it didn't require a CC.

The easier route if one was concerned would have been to use a GC.

On another note...
WTF? Why in the heck are people returning things? Makes absolutely no sense to me. Unless you didn't do the deal as posted, you had a very deep discount, or they were free after points. How about donating some things?

Speaking for myself, I bought 100 dollars worth of stuff and after all the discounts, paid 50 dollars out of pocket. They only credited me 20,000 points when they should have given me an additional 40,000 points. I don't really like the things I bought, one sweater even has a security tag on it, and I am kind of pissed at sears at the way they sent the stuff to me.(Almost every box was about to fall apart). Anyway, we will see I might keep a pair of tights I bought.

Went to pick up a dress i had ordered.. someone in the sears warehouse or vendor's warehouse had put the wrong tags on a shipment -- so instead of the cute dress I'd ordered -- I received some nasty looking thing (imagine a grey and charteuse oversized men's crewneck t-shirt that was supposedly a dress -- I'd have considered donating it but, I don't know anyone with a dog large enough to wear it and I was already at the store. It had the tags for the dress I really ordered. It had so much ugly going on that I think my sensibilities are traumatized. Sears doesn't even sell the dress they sent me -- thank goodness I opened it up at the pick up area so they knew it came from them. They are now searching for the real dress for me -- lol.
