You call and cancel the order with Customer Service. Sears charges your card as soon as the order is placed so if you change your mind then you must call to get a credit back. wave

I haven't had much luck with the Sears facebook page. It sure is interesting reading. They have so many complaints that complaints just kind of blend in with the masses. Reading that page sure makes you think twice before making any major purchase there.

You would have had a much better resolution if you had posted your horrible experience on the Sears Facebook Page.

They have special associates (Social Media Support Team) in the Sears Executive Offices that monitor the complaints on Facebook and other forms of Social Media.

When you put a complaint on Facebook, they will try to send you a private message (if your privacy settings allow them to), telling you that you have been assigned a case # and your assigned case worker will contact you via e-mail or phone to discuss everything.

They probably would have offered you a better grill at the same price or a gift card as compensation for your horrible experience and for ruining your husband's Christmas gift.

Just a heads up for future Sears headaches. Smilie

The key is to complain during normal business hours (like Monday to Friday). They typically have people who sit there and monitor it then. It's also best to exaggerate your story as much as possible to get their attention and have someone rectify your poor experience.

If you do it on the weekends, your comment might get blended in with the mass and nobody will reach out to you.

Sears gets a ton of complaints on Facebook... but I've also scored some pretty great deals there over the years. Without having them in business, I think price competition, especially on tools and appliances, would be hurt.

In the few times I've had to resort to Facebook... I did get pretty good resolutions.

One time, they had a deal that involved a coupon code which was good for 24 hours only on a ceiling fan. I placed an order for the item, it said "In Stock" for shipping when I ordered, but then I got a cancellation e-mail saying it was OOS and my order would be cancelled. Since the coupon code was unique and one-time use, I could no longer order the item for pick-up or anything like that. I tried calling Sears.com, but they were useless, as usual. I left a nice rant on Facebook and Sears sent me a gift card for the value of the coupon ($75) and told me to use it on anything I'd like.

Another time, I went to Sears to use an oil change coupon they sent me for being a SYWR Silver Member ($5 for a standard Valvoline Oil Change & tire rotation). I called ahead of time and asked if they take appointments. I was told that they do not and it was first-come first-served on the oil changes. I asked the guy if they were busy and he told me they were dead. They only had 1 car to do ahead of me and the wait time was 25 to 30 min, max. I got my stuff together and went with my dad to get the oil change (we were going to do some tool shopping too)... and the service writer saw the coupon in my hand and goes "we're short-handed, we only have 1 guy working today, and there's 3 cars ahead of you, the wait time is going to be 3 hours, but you can leave the car and we'll try to get it done by the end of the day."

I was like... are you freaking kidding me? The guy on the phone didn't say anything about them having 1 mechanic or any of that. So... we ended up leaving. I posted a comment on Facebook and they reached out to me. The manager of the tire center called me and offered me a Free Oil Change and Tire Rotation. I told him I was going to be coming in on Wednesday afternoon, around 3 PM to get it done. He told me fine, sounds good. So I show up and they had like 2 or 3 cars in the bays and the same guy, the "service writer" tells me its going to be 2 hours. I went and found the manager and he acted like a douchebag and was like "I thought you were going to call in and make an appointment". I was like, "I told you I was coming in and the guy who answers your phone always says we don't take appointments." And then someone called in and asked right in front of him, and he said the same thing. An appointment to them is worthless anyways... it's basically saying that they will work on your car, but provide no guarantees of when it will be done. It's like they expect you to drop off your car and not wait for it, which I would never do. Long story short, the manager told one of the mechanics to give me priority and as soon as he was done, they pulled my car in and after 1 hour and 30 min... I was finally out with my free oil change and rotation. I had to tell them to reset the TPMS, which only one out of 4 mechanics knew how to do. They must be well-trained. Smilie

Oh... and another time I complained about them not delivering my refrigerator when I took off work for it and received an e-mail confirmation the delivery date and everything. They ended up crediting me for the full value of the delivery and they gave me a 1 year Master Protection Plan on the refrigerator itself as a consolation. I also was able to claim a $70 mail-in rebate on the delivery (because I figured why not try to send it in anyways). Worked like a charm! Big Grin

My account still locked! Whee
I guess if it is still locked in a month or so I'll have to open one up in husbands name with a new e-mail! laugh out loud
Any up dates if they will ever unlock account?

I'm sure this is a bad idea for some reason that I can't think of, but would it give Sears a extra push to unlock our accounts if we posted on their FB page? Need input.

Wait...so now Sears is giving out money? In for 1! Teehee

So, after getting in on this deal, I still needed to buy a flash SD card. I used a BB GC to buy one, and they accidentally shipped it using regular shipping...so they gave me another $20 free code.

This is just the deal that keeps on giving! LMAO
