I have this drive with freezing issues, lots of problems with the M4s

It looks like Crucial is dumping these SSDs like Samsung did the 830s back in Oct. I missed out on the 830, so I may "settle" for the m4. But the firmware issues mentioned here and critical reviews on Amazon and Newegg are giving me trepidation about this model. : \

Looks like a firmware update came out on Dec 4 to address the issue of powering down computer unexpectedly causing problems.
Where to get a cheap install kit for mounting in a desktop case? |

I bought the Intel 520 240GB last Thursday for $180. I guess the extra $20 will be worth it considering the Intel drive is faster in terms of IOPS and read/write speed.

Thanks OP! in for 1 at NE since no tax and 2day ship shoprunner. also added a mounting kit from rosewill N82E16817997013 for 6bucks, not sure what i needed but seemed good enough!

after reading this thread fully... i'm now troubled that I have a new XPS8500 (just delivered) that I wanted to put this into, its has Win8 installed by dell but I'm going to install Win7 Pro on this SSD... will i run into crashing issues as well or just win8? sorry i'm new to these SSDs, I also have 1TB 7200rpm in the xps that i will use as D:drive. Thanks for the help!
