Suction cup is larger diameter than above, so needs a bigger smooth surface on dash, but rock solid and very adjustable. one hand installation and removal. pretty much perfect if you want a dash/windshield mount.

I think this problem of ruining radios is to hyped up. Most likely the people were cranking the wing nut too far and broke the plastic around cd opening. Just don't crank it down that much. Only crank it down to where it is stable. The insert to the CD changer doesn't go far enough in to break any internal components in the CD player in most cars I have seen.
