Bought this phone last year on BF for similar price. When the HTC EVO 4G came out, I bought it, never looked back. (I didn't have the $25 plan, so that didn't matter). The Triumph is a little sluggish, the camera is kind of crappy, for me the GPS never locked on unless I stood on a wide open field and waited thirty minutes. Reception was horrible, no signal where my old Optimus V had two bars. Data speeds were terribly slow. Battery life was pretty bad, didn't make it one day before it died.
I debated on rooting it but never went through with it. Luckily I did one thing, and that was to swap the PRL file for a Sprint one. This made a huge difference. Reception was as good as Optimus V if not better. Data speeds doubled at least, and the battery lasted through a whole day or more. So if you get this, do the PRL swap. It's a real pain, but it's worth it. And you can't break it if you do it wrong, it either works or it doesn't, so it's worth a try. Here is the link to the thread that I went by:
No Problem. FYI for anyone that does not want to install ClockworkMod recovery and a new rom but wants to stay stock. The battery life is poor on stock. Mine would go from 100% to 20% in 12 hours until I rooted my Triumph with GingerBreak and removed Facebook, Poynt, SCVNGR, Talkback, Ubersocial, and Virgin Mobile Live. I also removed Yahoo Mail that I had installed. After that the battery life improved significantly! If I didn't use it much it would take like 2 and a half days to get to 20% after that.
