Who needs Black Friday when you have SlickDeals everyday? I have Victoria's Secret store credit cards to trade! Also I have a HOT TOPIC card. I want Amazon and GAP cards

COULDN'T STACK AAA and Refer-A-Friend discounts

NOT able to stack discounts. I called the AAA line today to sign up and was told adamantly that I can only use ONE discount. I asked to speak to a supervisor and spoke to a "floor manager" and he was adamant about only ONE discount is allowed. I went ahead and ordered with only the AAA discount.

Later the same day I called the Refer-A Friend line 877-848-6423. The CSR also said that only ONE discount is allowed. She wouldn't let me speak to a manager when I asked. I read the quote below and because it sounded official, she agreed to make a request for the referral discount by notation of my request and my referral account number (my sister's account which she's had for almost 4 years), BUT the CSR reiterated that there is no guarantee the request will be approved. In any case i will not find out the status of the request until 6-8 weeks! She repeated again that for the record she has informed me that there is only ONE discount allowed....I don't know if she's repeating that because she's mandated to say that but will actually allow me to have the stacked discount or not.

My question is: what did I do wrong, How come I couldn't get the stacked discount that others seem to be able to get easily?

Not sure, IIRC, people went through the AAA website, and called B4 installation for the $10 Friend Referral. You have plenty of time to speak to a different csr.

LOL, I was thinking of quiting and then resigning up under wife's name but this isn't gaining me very much from what I can see.

I finished my 2 yr contract in September. I find I am paying exactly the same monthly price right now as I would if started up again averaged over two years. So what I would gain are the $200 gift card and $200 referral credit($10 each), and it sounds like the referral fee isn't a given from the earlier poster.

If I were to pick the same equipment this time with 3 HDDVRs that would cost me $400, so it would be a break even at best. The other choice is Genie with 2 mini clients, which would be free. I haven't looked into the Genie a lot, maybe it is better than the 3 HDDvrs with Whole Home that I have right now and would be worth a change at some time.

I am a bit surprised. I always thought new customers get a better deal, but at least for now I am doing as well after contract. I am definitely going to stay with what I have at this point. Maybe a better deal down the road or if mine increases I will look to switch.

There might be some bundling deals I need to look into. I was offered $20/month for the same internet service I have right now for 12 months as a new customer. But I could maybe get my current internet down as well through CenturyLink loyalty dept.

Tried doing that but they found out it was under my spouse's name and immediately terminated our services and installation. Then they would not offer any more deals as an existing customer because they said I was a "fraud". Literally spent hours on the phone with DT and spoke to several supervisors in each department. The only thing they would agree is if we would take the full price service and they would mail us our old equipment back. We basically wanted the Genie so that is why we wanted to start a new contract. We were already out of contract for many months and our equipment was incredibly slow.

Even if you and your wife have different last names and telephone numbers, if DT sees that service is terminated and restarted, they may ask the old subscriber for verification of a new address.

Two weeks later, they sent a please come back email with this exact same deal (but minus they Costco Cash card). Now they are bombarding me with we-miss-you offers.

What I did was - scheduled a move to a different address at a later date. They have no problem if you continue the old service at a new address and install a new service under different name but at the same address. Once you get the installation - you call them a day later and cancel your scheduled move.

The funny thing is I tried to get them to provide new equipment as I wanted to upgrade to HD after being a customer for many years and having all old (owned) equipment and they would not even meet me halfway (and my requests were less costly than the new customer offer). That was what led me to cancel and sign up under my wife.

Ya pretty sure they go off address instead of people's name.. so unless you cancel and move you will have to wait 2 years to get any new customer offers. Call and tell em you are going to quit and see what they offer you, I do that every few months to get my bill down a bit.
