I just got screwed on this deal.
I signed up on 2/6 before the fee increase. I just had them install yesterday. The price on my bill is now the current bill with the higher fees, which included higher monthly service, higher advanced receiver service. This added 8 ish dollars to my bill for several months. CS and superviser were both clueless, rude, and talked over me. I'm already thinking about using up the good part (1st year) of the discount and then eating the cancellation fee of 20/month for early termination fee. It's 24 dollars extra a month in year 2, and the "new customer deals" for Dish turn out better for the first year with these higher prices. Check your bill people. Looks like the Costco site is offering $5 off Choice packages and above (online only it says) just like the regular Directv site. The only thing is, after I put in my zip code, it just goes back to the regular pricing. The $5 off works fine on the regular site though. DTV was offering $5 off this past weekend and still continuing on their regular site. Costco site was offering $5 off on ultimate and above and started the Choice and above discount today. I've read some saying this is regional, but why would it give me the $5 off on the regular DirecTV site and not the Costco one?? I am debating if I should call in and see what they can do, although it says online only for the discount. What do you guys think? Please advise..thanks.

I am not having any luck stacking the referral on top of the Costco offer...I followed all the steps, but no luck. What am I doing wrong?

Do the Genie "mini's" have to be connected to the main Genie to function as just an HD receiver? (no DVR function) Also, how is their regular DVR service compared to Tivo? I just bought an HD Tivo and really like it. Wondering if I should keep the Tivo with just 3 HD Directv receivers or go with their DVR service? Trying to figure out pricing as well on which is best in my case. I don't see needing Whole Home DVR service. Again just depends on pricing.
Also, is this the first time they are giving away MLB and Sunday Ticket? That's a hell of a deal! iwheela |

I actually like the DVR service vs. Tivo myself. Once you have whole home DVR service you won't want to go without it. Also, regarding a pole mount, yes that is considered an additional charge for install. |
