I just added their new genie receiver (leased), and got everything for free, including installation, and got a 15 dollar credit for 12 months. I am an existing customer, doesnt hurt to call and see what they got going, bypass the initial CSR and go straight to the CRG people, they are the ones that can make the magic happen. On the bad side, i had to extend 2 years on my contract...but then again, not sure i was going to go anywhere else, and I still had 10 months left on my existing contract extension...so, i really had to go another 14 more months.

I am confused...What is the regional extra $5 savings that a few have mentioned? It pops up upon ordering?

If that doesn't work I always get to the right people when I want to know when my contract is up or if I request to cancel, if you talk to them and they take you through the cancel process without any offers (highly unlikely) just hang up they can't continue on without you in the phone.

I am looking to possibly sign up for the Choice. The cheapest I can get it to come out is $38 per month for the first 10 months, $48 for months 11-12, then $57 for the entire 2nd year.

This includes using the Costco promo and a referral from a family member.

Breakdown:

$38 x 10 = $380
$48 x 2 = $96
$57 x 12 = $684
minus $200 Costco cash card.

So essentially, I'll average out to around $40 a month over the course of the two years. I would only have the one Genie receiver. Does this sound right? Anything else I could possibly stack on?

I noticed someone mentioned above they were able to get Choice Ultimate for $40 a month for a year, which seems a much better deal.

She said there is a free dvr service for 12 months which is $8 off for now. Told me she'll apply that now and call me a month later to see if there's other credits she can give me to lower my bill. Overall pretty pleasant experience and hopefully I will get the new genie receiver a month from now with some more credits knocked down my account.

Just had DirecTV installed on Wednesday January 2nd, 2013 and received my $200.00 Costco Cash Card on Tuesday January 8th, 2013. That was much faster than I expected. Anyways, I was confused about the refer a friend program. I incorrectly assumed that you could only refer one person and that was it, then today I received my first DirecTV statement and it was more explicit than what I read online on the DirecTV web-site. It said that I could refer 10 people in a 12 month period for a total savings of $1,000.00. My parents had signed up for DirecTV about 3 months ago and I called in and gave them their account number so that I could get $10.00 of for 10 months and so that they could. Then I convinced one of my aunts to sign up for DirecTV, but I told her that she would need to get my other aunt's DirecTV account number so that they could both get $10.00 of a month for 10 months -- I actually convinced her to get it and I wish that I could have gotten that knowing what I know now.
