I'm a developer and used one of these extensively for around 4 years. Best form factor of any keyboard IMO. If I hadn't gotten on a mechanical keyboard kick I'd still be using it. If they ever make a mechanical version I'd switch. I'm using DAS Keyboard right now.

ROFL...
tp4tissue "Gaming is gonna shift back to pc, due to steam type services,, AND not to mention really CHEAP hardware that's at least 4 times faster than xbox "LULZ zxcvb "This does not have a regular VGA connection. This will work with only HP monitors. |

Thanks. Awesome price and no tax to NY.
Don't know about some of you, but mine usually lasts on average 2 years (had 3 so far). Same problem, keys start to stick after a while. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. SJ

This is a great keyboard, however I bought it not a year ago and one morning the Backspace, L, :, and K keys stopped working. I never dropped any liquid or anything on the keyboard--the keys just stopped working altogether.
Microsoft support asked me to ship out the old keyboard to them for a replacement, but shipping through USPS would cost $23 for a $30 keyboard. I didn't bother to do it because I knew a deal would show up that would be cheaper than a replacement from Microsoft. Instead I opened up the keyboard and thoroughly cleaned the plastic layers between the circuit sheets for the keys, but even when I put it back together the broken keys still would not respond. I hope my keyboard was a fluke, and that this new one will not suddenly develop the same problem. I did really enjoy the comfort of typing on this keyboard. These are great keyboards. I've been using these and their predecessors for 12 years or so now. I write code on them every day. I can't imagine using anything else.
I do wish, though, that Microsoft (or someone) would make a mechanical version to alleviate the key sticking issues. The left Alt key sticks once a day or so on mine. All I have to do to unstick it is press it a few times, but it throws me off when I'm in the middle of trying to use keyboard shortcuts. |
