If your mobo only handles SATAII like mine, you might not notice as much of an improvement as if you're using a mobo that runs SATAIII. |

I dont think this is a good deal. I just got this a few weeks ago for $110 out the door from Circuit City online and I just sent my $10 rebate in. I recommend you guys to wait for a better deal unless you guys dont mind spending $30 extra.
As for the drive and how it performs. Its freakin awesome. Very fast on windows 7 64 bit ultimate. Its actually mind boggling |

To those wondering why SSD prices have gone up, it's because the NAND fabs cut production in late-July so that Supply/Demand was more favorable for them.
There was a sudden jump in NAND prices in late August (~15%) but prices have come down slightly and are leveling off now. The next price decline will come when SSD manufacturers use the next NAND geometry. Over the past year NAND was made at 25-27nm and we'll soon see 19-21nm be the standard. What's that mean? More NAND fits on the same wafer which leads to higher yields and cheaper prices. Other things to look for - the use of TLC NAND instead of MLC. TLC adds an additional bit per cell, increasing bit density by 50%, while lowering the cost per bit by 33%. Although there are concerns over endurance, for most people, TLC SSD's will offer more than enough endurance. Ok, enough of my PSA. Point is this is a great deal and it's unlikely you'll see another price like this in the near term. |
