I don't mind the lines on the zenbooks. I think they're quite beautiful. But I haven't actually tried to type on one or lift one up so I can't speak on that. I just like the looks of it. But I'm happy with what I have.

Got my 17R SE Scratch and Dent yesterday. The cosmetic issues were all on the bottom. It looked like someone set the laptop down on a table edge and not on the four pads causing some light rubbing marks to the bottom of the case. Everything else looks brand new. Nice laptop. Love the 1080 resolution for the work I do (writing/editing).

Gonna drop 16GB in and look for a blu ray drive upgrade. Mine came with Windows 8 Core so I have to buy and upgrade to Pro to get the Media Center goodies. Trying to sort out if I should be a $40 key from another computer running Windows 7 and use the license key or see if I can get the $69.99 Pro Pack for cheaper.

Nice computer. Very fast with the Ivy Bridge i7.

This thing is THIN! I have a desktop which does a majority of the heavy lifting, and wanted something ultra portable when I go on vacation/travel.
at $505 after 30% off and the $75 gift card when you buy $400, this was a GREAT buy!

I usually reformat as soon as I get a new computer because of all the bloatware, but it barely came with any, so I decided not to.

Screen is pretty decent, although the viewing angles aren't the best.
No ethernet, no HDMI, no VGA, no SD card reader, but I don't need them. I like that it's so thin (feels almost as thin as the 1st gen iPads. The display port jack will fulfill my external monitor needs when I need it and it's a WiDi enabled machine, although I haven't tried it yet.

The keyboard is AWESOME. It feels good and the spacing make typing VERY comfortable. Each key has a little dip in it that makes typing feel so smooth and comfortable.
The multi-gesture trackpad (Cypress Trackpad) did not work for me at first. I went to the Dell website and re-downloaded the driver and now it works without any issue.
The audio is surprisingly VERY good! I was surprised how clear and loud it could get.

I'll mainly be using it for travel when I'll do some internet surfing, microsoft office, LR4, and maybe some CS5.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase!
