Everyone is writing that this is a good way to use staples rewards money. However when I went today and bought the paper, the associate manager told me that using rewards invalidates your rebate. I ended up paying by credit card to avoid a hassle, but isn't he wrong?

What they don't know is all to our benefit.

Yup, assistant manager is definitely wrong. I do it all the time and nobody has ever said anything to me, including the store manager helping the cashier. I have gotten the rebate every single time. He's probably confused with stuff with staples rewards. You cannot buy say the 100% back staples rewards batteries with Rewards and GET MORE rewards back. Yes. Works just fine. This paper rebate isn't even a coupon. You pay full price and it prints the info to get a money rebate from it. Last edited by Hawk2007; 12-14-2012 at 06:14 AM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost The truth: Management at IRS can blame themselves and how they have chaotic and poor management, but God-forbid you, or I, or anybody else in America gets audited and doesn't have their ducks in order and s***-together, your ass is going to court or jail.
Shout out to Congressman Mike Kelly for stating it as it is... Link [realclearpolitics.com] |

not a single rebate recepit printed for me and I went to another store ~20 min away from where I live and apparently they had 4x 2*6 photo papers FAR (limit 4) instead of the 8*11 limit 2, very confused when I left the store but was able to fill out all rebates online

I could not believe this
Staples would never run out of this copy paper. 1) Find the correct ream of paper, it should have a sku like "513099-BL", ingore the BL part. 2) Go to register, ring the above paper, 3) then ring the special sku 866957 just like ringing as you are purchasing this item ($0.00 though) Please note: this is NOT a coupon. It looks like a coupon, and would confuse inexperienced cashier. 4) Apply any coupon you have such $5 off $25 with additional items purchased to meet coupon minimum requirement. The % off coupon is easier, just apply in this step 5) Pay and get the receipt, your rebate form should spit out at this moment. I bet you might have messed up in step #3. This is NOT a coupon. You would need to have both skus 513099 & 866957 in the same transaction in order to trigger the rebate form to print out. Personally, driving 20 minutes for a ream of paper is not worthy unless you are in urgent need of copy paper.. |

might be a problem with the register or store entirely, and no I did not drive 20 min just for some paper, I wouldn't even drive 5 minutes to my local store for this, lol |
