BACK AGAIN! And the status for my order is "Released to Manufacturing". It seems that you will not be cancelled...

Lowest price, even lower than the price of Black Friday and with an extra "Integrated Mobile Broadband (Sierra Wireless MC8355 - Gobi 3000"

Link: http://lite.corporateperks.com/holidayfair (Need registration), and choose Lenovo. It will lead you to "Lenovo Corporate Perks Exclusive Offer", and also give you 3% reward.

To register, you can try your work email or something I found in the internet: http://alamoinsurance.net/alamo-p...ate-perks/

*If you don’t have a company email address click “Have a Company Code?” and register with your personal email address,

Company Name: Alamoinsurance.net and company code (case sensitive): alamoperks

------------------------------------------------
Now the x230 does not show price, so that is the tricky.

choose shop all x230, and the third one without price, customize and buy:

1. in display model: choose the 3rd option: 12.5" Premium HD (1366x768) LED Backlit Display, Mobile Broadband Ready, 2x2 Antenna (You will get ips panel and webcam)

2. in camera, make sure the 720p cam is checked.

3. in integrated WiFi Wireless LAN Adapters, choose Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 AGN

The price will change from NA to 561.66... You can upgrade something else but make sure the price for i5 is above 550 or i7 above 750 so that you can check out.

That's it!

Be quick and quiet... Sometimes it is cancelled, sometimes not.

You can upgrade anything to make the price above 550!

=============

Also it is rumored that you should not choose win8 and win8 is not compatible with GOBI3000, and they have to cancel the order.

Premium HD is what Lenovo calls the IPS option(s).

Premium HD (either one, see below).

I'd also pick up an integrated webcam, if you have any occasion to use Skype, and Bluetooth if you see yourself ever needing that. I don't believe it comes with either, and I kind of regret not picking both for my X220T.

For the webcam, that requires the 2x2 antenna, otherwise use the 3x3 one (if I remember correctly).

PS It seems that they are included in the X230. Anyways, make sure they're checked. The tablet version doesn't include those as a default.

No. I just picked up some low voltage AData ram from newegg for 29$
So far, I'm really liking this ram. It's fast, low cas and low voltage (better battery life, windows estimates 30 minutes).
The memory is VERY easy to change. There's a panel on the bottom held in by 3 small screws. Pop that off and both slots are visible.

Good deal.

FYI: I just configured a T430 for ~$100 less through Corporate Perks than through B&N Gold for those of you looking at other laptop series

Please, excuse my ignorance, but what is all of the hype about this? The ultra-low voltage processor provides more battery run time? All I see is a 12 inch "thickbook" that weights 4 pounds. It probably has a chunky battery to provide so many hours at such weight anyway. IPS screen - yes, a good benefit. I don't really consider the integrated GOBI a big deal.

Maybe if it had an i7 and a 128 SSD?

Reason I am asking - I am very happy with the NP300-U1A. Yes, an i3 and 11.6 inch, but it also came out to $250.

Why is everyone keeping it such a big secret on how to sign up for this site? I thought SD was about sharing deals. And I see it says WOW points, is that the same WOW points you get on the MC Marketplace?

1) This doesn't skimp on the processor. This is not a ULV

2) One of the few 12.5/13 inchers that gives an IPS screen

3) May be thick but Light weight than many touchscreen "ultrabooks" like Sonty Vaio T and Asus Vivobook. So thick doesn't necessarily mean weight. It may in fact provide better air movement

4) Doesn't compromise on ports - displayport, HDMI, GIgabitt Ethernet etc..

5) RAM is not soldered or anything. Can be replaced/added easily.

So that is the hype
