The only availability is through third party, however Amazon is fulfilling orders and from past experience they won't price match unless authorized to do so by the seller.
I just got off the phone with an amazon rep as you can see above and was told that they will price match it because it is fulfilled by Amazon.

An idiot every time with dlp posts. What do you think you are watching at most movie theaters? Guess they will shut down because you think DLP is archaic. Guess they are running 40x1080p also, because they are on a 500"+ screen. . .

Feel free to go buy a $5k+ 80" LCD. I will gladly fork over $94 every 3 years for a new bulb instead.

Is 1080p really enough for an 82" size TV?

I mean....people around here whine and cry about 720p on a 50".

Amazon CAN NOT price match since they are not the seller. All price adjustments has to be approved by the seller.

Yes. He pulled up the tv on amazon's page and saw that Amazon was not the seller, therefore could not price match (even though it was fulfilled by amazon).

Nice price OP, but I guess tax may "kill" it for some.

Hopefully there will be more deals until the stock runs out. Swan song for a great TV.

having a bad day? dewk2 asked a very legitimate question about whether 1080p is good enough for a 80"+ screens if 720p on a 50" raises questions with some - regardless of the technology (dlp, lcd, led). In movie theaters people are hundreds of feet away from those huge screens and at home we're not. Why do you think we're going into 4K resolutions? SONY already has: http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/20...er-server/

4k resolution is pretty useless for any in home application right now, I feel as though it's the same as the "4g" bullshit mobile phone carriers are trying to push.
You dont need 4k resolution on any consumer television because when sitting from the correct distance the human eye cant distinguish 1080 from 4k unless the screen is MASSIVE
