iMito MX1 and MX2 Owner's Thread

I solved the network problems first by installing a cheap ($10) 802.11n router from the egg, as a dedicated AP for the Android stick PCs (three different versions of the PCs). then gave up on Wifi and used one of those cheap USB -> Ethernet dongles I got through ebay. was about 3.5 USD, delivered. Worked out of the postal bag, faster then all WiFi solutions (less network overhead). However... now the Bluetooth does not see any device... none at all. anyone having such problem? Any solutions?

The dropbox link in the wiki for the new firmware appears to be expired, can anyone show me where else I can download it?

how do you find out what firmware my imito mx2 is on?
is it worth rooting? which files do i need? any steps by step instructions? which is the latest rom/rooting
which is the best version of xbmc to install?

any other tips?

That probably depends on who you bought it from.

Go to settings then 'about device'.
Just get the latest XBMC. I think it's v12

ok cool. is the fineless 1.5 rom worth installing? is the picture quality better.. what are the main advantages and what settings have you installed since doing so...

I need advice! I purchased the MX2 from In4Dealz - the thing fried - I mailed it out back to them on December 30th and they are stating that they still have not received it. The tracking only shows the departure from US.

I tried filling with paypal but they said that doesn't qualify.

What should I do? or am I just out the money?

My 2 week old MX2 is having problem with its power connector, it looks like its not making good contact. If I hold it with my hands and move the micro-USB connector a little, I can see the power LED light goes ON ad OFF. Anyone have the problem? If so how do yoy fix it? Thanks in advance!!

Don't give up. Keep after all 3 parties, PayPal, In4Dealz and whoever was the carrier. If you have the time just keep pushing up the chain of command. Don't get nasty with anyone, polite but firm works best most times. Good luck.

Great thread. I just got an mx2 today. I have one problem, though. I try to play video on pandora.tv or youtube, and the device goes nuts. It plays the first second of video, then drops the signal to the tv(goes black). Every now and then, it pups back on, video seemingly in progress, but blanks out again after a second or less.

Anybody know whats going on? I am using stock everything.

ETA Im using a logitech k700 keyboard/touchpad. Is there any way to prevent the on-screen keyboard from popping up? Its pretty annoying and I couldnt figure out how to turn it off in the "input and keyboard" menu.

Mine just died as well. What a POS waste of money!

Good Luck!!! Mine broke last year. Sent it to China on Dec 29th. I will be getting a replacement this week. Almost three months later. Good luck! I will try to keep this one going but we will see. The whole return process is a POS.
