iMito MX1 and MX2 Owner's Thread

Glad to see everyone found a place to discuss the device and get info!!
You can all thank your neighborhood flamer, Fireballs for getting the original deal thread shut down.

There ended up being far too much nonsense posted for the Mods to even attempt to get it back on track, warnings were given, and it was closed.

He continued the same in the uHost U1A thread and I just ignored it and asked everyone else, one by one privately, to do the same.

Then, after trashing the deals relentlessly.......he posts a deal for one from the same site, so that he can trash his own deal.
I've never seen such a petty person in my 20 years of using the internet.
I just cannot fathom why someone would screw hundreds of people trying to stick it to one.
Just sad......

BUT, enough of that, I'm glad I was notified about this thread.
It seems like there are lots of people happy with theirs - and - I bought one too at the end of the deal.
I broke down and jumped in and even though I didn't buy the remote, I ended up getting one off of eBay from a seller in the US, so now I can have a conversation about some of these things without having to guess or hope others can answer.

THANK YOU, OP for making a dedicated forum thread for people to go to instead.
I just ask that if and when our friend makes his inevitable entrance, that everyone tell him to fark off.
Or, better yet, just totally and completely ignore him so that he can slink off un-responded to.

For me, it took them a week to actually ship... then a week to go from China to the US (during which time there were no status updates); after that, it took two days to get to me from Chicago. So about 2.5 weeks from the time I ordered.

Update on my wifi: The connection has remained pretty stable over the past day -- the reception isn't the best, but it hasn't dropped out again. I'll have to try and stress test it by streaming over wifi for a couple of hours...

I received mine today. I am having difficulty in connecting to my home wifi. Even though my router is sitting in next room, it says signal strength is poor and unable to connect to my wifi.

I am using Logitech wireless keyboard & mouse brought few days back from Walgreens deal, its working so nice with this.

i got my mx2 yesterday from in4dealz. pretty fast... i love singapore post...

the device would be great... but i have serious wifi troubles... between 2 and 13mbit... it looses all time the signal... usually i have a really strong wifi n signal...

I can't put a lan adapter. is there a usb wifi adapter anyone suggest and works? or any other ideas... ?

UPDATE: After removing my router security "WPA2-PSK [AES]" and kept it open, this thing could able to connect wifi and signal strength is OK.

So far, able to browse some websites and downloaded some apps, played some youtube videos, stream some SD videos from my Synology NAS. Looks good.

I'm getting this deal right now. Putting an emulator on the imito and even minecraft (controller mapping) for just five bucks!

Try TKIP, I'm using AES + TKIP on my router and it works.

Wrong do not use TKIP, its flawed and just as easy to hack as WEP (along with WPS fyi).

You both should be using WPA2 with AES

I spoke too soon. I was able to run amazon videos initially but now it has stopped,working. It keeps giving me a "unable to connect message". Anyone know how to fix?

Use firefox browser. That's been working for me.

At that rate you could just go back to WEP which would support even more devices... And if you have a device that supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) thats even worse.
