iMito MX1 and MX2 Owner's Thread

This is awesome but I got my MX2 today and it worked fine and now I'm trying to hook it up to my big screen TV and nothing comes up, went back to my monitor and no signal again! I think this thing is dead? Warranty on this crap?

Pretty sure you need a powered OTG cable for that. No device can give power via the micro usb for a hard drive I believe.

RE: Imito Mx1Try swapping out the power adapter mine was bad and I have read of similar reports in reviews. When I tried to open an app the device would crash and the red light on power adapter would faintly flash as would the blue light on MX1 (near power input.). Swapped in a HP Touchpad barrel power adapter and has bewen working fine since.

I love this device!

I have a i mito mx2 and I have been trying to get it to show up when connected to my computer. I have tried both USB ports and I have enabled and disabled USB debugging. No matter what Moborobo is not able to connect. I would like to be able to root the device.

UPDATE: The latest rooted, true 1080p from Finless Bob 1.5 Rom at freaktab.com dated 12/22.

The "easy" microsd install method will not work, but he has provided great detailed instructions for installation that worked perfectly for me. I had to use his included "alternate" flash prep. install program / method.

A couple of informative links about flashing updates.

First link: If you have firmware of 11/05 or later firmware, flashing is easy. Just put update.img in root of microsd card, insert in imito and boot. Will give auto update dialog upon boot. In link is also described the confusing and arduous process to flash usb drivers and firmware for pre 11/05 firmwares.

The second link includes the latest firmware 11/29.

The third link gives video review and process and links for true 1080p and root. Update: This update worked fine, but for some reason the resolution of wallpaper was large, i.e. the full image did not fit on desktop.

Fourth link has download mirror at geeksbuying.com.

FYI, I have found the native browser by far the best vs Firefox, chrome and dolphin particularly as it pertains to wireless mice or mini mouse / keyboard (ipazz works great) as does Logitech wireless mouse / keyboard ex100 and 360. I had a really hard time getting my pc to recognize it too. I tried everything and I finally saw it.

Make sure under USB that "connect to computer" is also checked. Keep USB debugging enabled.

I just kept unplugging and replugging, rebooting the stick and rebooting my computer and "jiggling" the connector until my computer finally saw the stick.

Hang in their and keep trying, you'll get their.

I didn't do anything other than install Firefox. The only problem I have with my wireless mouse/keyboard (MS 5000/4000) is that the scroll wheel doesn't work in Firefox). Plays Amazon videos fine. Try an app like Speedtest to test your wifi connection. Maybe it's too slow.

I read someone else had a problem with wifi. But in my case the wifi connection is so bad that Youtube doesn't even start playing. I can browse the web but it is slowwww. Did I just get a defective unit?

Tested different power adapter and this thing still doesn't show signal. Must be fried. Sad because it worked beautifully out of the box.

Someone else had their microUSB power connector break off the board inside - that may be the problem. I am going to very careful plugging and unplugging stuff on these.

I know! Be careful guys, it seems the stuff is pretty fragile and it works but you never know. I emailed in4dealz and see how he handles this.

Got mine yesterday, been playing around with it, and it is awesome, vimeo, crackle, dolphin, etc apps are great, will root in the next few days.

Anyone know how we can install native google TV apps on this thing or if we can port the google TV launcher for this device? That would be awesome, there are a lot of apps made specifically for google TV, would be cool to be able to use them

I was actually surprised with the remote, didnt think I would like it, but it's awesome, very similar to the LG motion remotes that come with their higher end TVs, when the pointer gets in a weird spot, just shake the mouse around it will center it again
