It's still much smaller and lighter than a dslr and you don't always have to use the evf. Pop a prime lens on it and it fits in your coat pocket.

Here's some size comparison NEX5 :111x59x38 mm PL5: 114x72x42 mm A330:128x97x71 mm A37:124x92x85 mm haha, turn out the A330 is smaller than the A37... that's crazy.... but i'm sure the 85mm is from the protruding EVF. at any rate, i can pocket my A330 and possibly the A37 if i wear my peatcoat (larger pocket). certain can pocket the NEX5 in my hoodies. |

Sony's lenses are too big, for their focal lenghts. Sony is a disreputable company.
The EVF version 2 is said to look better; but does not lock. Folks mod it; to stay tight. Version 1, is thier OVF; but then doesn't given a true view frame(paralax etc). M4/3 is smaller stuff, over all. However, th best lenses are about 2x the cost of comparable bigger system lenses, and that has to stop. Small is the point. Many of us are waiting for a on board EVF, that has no hump, such as on the side. That tends to cost less, than EVF accessories, and you would not have to remove it, nor possibly lose it; when not in use. Currently, the OM-D E-M5 is leading the party, but needs improvments (like with video), and a realistic price. The sensor is beating (kudos) the cheapest, new DLSR's; but that's not saying much. |
