I have two of these, easy to setup if you can log into your router and setup port forwarding. Then sign up for a free dyndns account so you can view from outside your home network. Then I use free Iphone apps like CamViewer and netcamviewer. Yes, you can setup motion detection to send photos via email or FTP. Two way audio has some lag, and only works when using Internet Explorer.
Check the foscam forums for more info, but sounds like: The bandwidth used for both 320x240 and 640x480 resolution seems to be about 350 KBytes/sec. http://foscam.us/forum/bandwidth-...-t252.html Last edited by landmarke; 12-12-2012 at 04:38 AM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

I have the white one and am very happy with it. Everything is set up and I can view it away from home. My only issue is when my cameras IP decides to change addresses on me when I'm not home. I have a cable connection (which doesn't change IP's as much) as oppose to DSL.
Is there a way to fix this? It only happens once to twice a month but it is annoying. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- p.s. For those who might need help setting this up... This is a copy/paste of a post of mine from a different thread on this camera:

Decent price, decent camera for what it is. So long as you have realistic expectations you'll be pleased.
We have four of these. One is in the library, one pointing at the safe, one looking into the garage, and one for the nursery. All are monitored/recorded (as directed) by iSpy [ispyconnect.com], an opensource monitoring solution. (Tip: once you've got all your cameras set up and optimized, save the ispy profile to an thumb drive in case of hard drive failure.) We've set it up so the images and videos are saved to a hidden/secured hard drive and simultaneously uploaded to an offsite server. Once you get port forwarding set up you can use a service such as dyndns.org to view the cameras remotely. You will definitely score points with the grandparents if you allow them to peek in on the sleeping baby at night. Just remember that the camera is on when the little one cries for a diaper change or feeding. Wireless remote-controlled outlet switches [buy.com] are handy solutions if you find yourself forgetting, btw. Click it off before you enter the room, turn it back on when you leave. It re-starts and reconnects without user input. I think Home Depot sells this same model. Good find OP. |

For the former, you should be able to "pin" IPs by MAC on your router config. For the latter, I started using the free dynamicdns stuff - one of my routers has an auto updater add on, which works really well. For the free stuff, you have to log in every 30 days, so if I got any further into things, I would consider paying I think. |
