That's not true. I was posting because there are plenty of people who are fighting it. Why else do you think ubisoft caved from their insanely draconian always-on drm to shift to a more steam-like version? It was because people weren't putting up with their crap. There are enough good games out there that I can wait for them to remove all the crap from this before playing it... assuming I still even want to by the time they do that. Not to belabor the point, since I know there're people on here who don't care whether there's DRM or not (assuming it doesn't jack up their machines- the primary reason I've become so anti-DRM). I simply wanted to inform of the presence of DRM for those like me who care and to correct your post claiming that it's useless to fight it when we have clear evidence that it's effective. |

regardless, yes, you have a right to not use products that you do not like. more power to you. i was that way too, but i guess i fell for conformity. besides, i dont usually mess with securom, but batman? C'MON BRO and steam is DRM. securom hasn't caused me any issues or computer problems since like 2004 with prince of persia. ubisoft had an always online policy which was stupid as hell. i still refuse to purchase any of their games, they aren't that good anyway... maybe the anno series... Tried to buy it but for whatever reason it couldn't process my payment. I tried two different cards with the same result. Not sure if they are having a system problem or what.

I also just purchased Mortal Kombat Arcade Collection and now I can't even play the game because GFWL needs to update but can't. Spent 30 minutes troubleshooting, no go. Needless to say, GWFL is a huge steaming turd GO DUKE!

People get upset about GFWL but at the end of the day it's a business decision because it makes it so much easier to convert xbox code. It shouldn't matter in the slightest for a game without multiplayer though.
I gotta say, one time when I decided to play Halo and my roommate was playing Arkham Asylum on his PC he got kicked off his account because he used the same Live gamertag on both of them. That's an atrocious oversight in my opinion. |
