battery life on the vaio isn't that great, but it's passable. i'd say 4 1/2 hours with wifi on and me streaming a tv show.
i haven't noticed an issue with the touchpad.. also, the fan issue isn't really a big deal. the fan isn't that loud, at least not enough to bother me. Using the word "grammer" to correct someone's grammar is like saying... "hey your a idiot"

I also looked at the X230. The only thing I hated about it was the tiny touchpad due to the stupid eraser mouse buttons. That was the immediate turn off for me. |

Not a fan of Sony. Had a vaio a few years ago and it runs extremely hot so hot that I might had lost a few sperm counts lol. I had to buy a cooling pad to use it and looked kinda silly on the road.

I have a i3 non touch screen version and i love it...Its behaving very well...
Good things : Amazing boot up time, build quality, design, touch n feel, Keyboard is responsive Bad things : camera I love it.. definitely recommended... |

For the price, get a refurbished Lenovo X230 w/ IPS screen, with the occasional coupon codes floating around. There's no competition when it comes to real usability.

What would you choose SVT13125CXS i5 3317U for $599 after rebate and no taxes or dell XPS 13 i7 -2637m for $711 after rebate + taxes?

Never buying sony again. Worst cooling system ever. Fan vent is between the two hinges and blows INTO the screen for my vaio S. Also fan is loud as FFFF. Battery is average. 4hrs cause of FAN running 24/7
