Tempting...I'm waiting for micro center to offer one for $20 dollars again without a rebate. I plan on using this in my lenovo M91p Tower for a dual monitor setup. I haven't even purchased the monitors yet lol (I need a good deal on dual monitors; two of the same exact screens).

Guys i want to run 4 monitors (2 main 23" widescreens(DVI) and then 2 19" 4:3 format(VGA) ) all at the same time. I'm currently waiting on a MOBO/i5 deal to complete my rebuild, but I already have the monitors and these cards seem cheap enough to get now.
The desktop would be for just office work (MS office, some internet based programs, and lots of firefox windows and tabs open..I usually have about 100 tabs open on about 5 firefox windows, etc.) Would 2 of these work well for me? Anything special i have to have on the motherboard? Appreciate the help! |

Got mine the other day. Received next day after I ordered. Good thing I didn't select Newegg's priority shipping for $3. Sometimes, I think you get faster shipping by selecting the slowest shipping method
![]() Wanted one to throw in my HTPC, so I can free up the system RAM my on-board Intel HD Graphics uses. After driver install, I ran Windows WEI. I gained massive points on my system RAM, since I was able to disable my on-board graphics controller. My Desktop Graphics score dropped from 5.0 to 4.7. Though, my gaming graphics gained points by going from 5.7 to 6.2. Major con... the card fan is frigging LOUD! At least 15 decibels louder than my loudest fan in my case, and I only have three other fans, CPU, CASE, and PSU. I tried lowering the voltage to the fan via the AMD Catalyst software, that didn't work. Then I disabled AMD's control, and tried using MSI's Afterburner App to control the fan. That was absolutely useless. Then I uninstalled all the drivers using DriverSweeper, and reinstalled the video driver and tried again. That didn't work. So, I disabled the fan by pulling its power connector on the card. So far, the cards temp is hovering at 70 Celsius playing a high def vid. Will see if any problems occur. Since this is in an HTPC, the last thing you want is a component with a loud fan, but for $15 I figured I'd give this card a try. Last edited by blazin; 12-15-2012 at 05:18 PM.. |

I just wanted to chime in on this card. I just wrote a Newegg review and hopefully it posts soon so people can get an idea.
I purchased this card in October when they were running the special where it comes with Winzip 16 for free. I sold the download code for 15 bucks on ebay. The purpose of buying this card was simply to connect my desktop to my TV via HDMI. For the purposes of that, it works perfectly. I will not be doing any gaming or graphic intensive tasks. I'm currently using an off-lease Dell Optiplex 2.2ghz C2D with 4 GB RAM on Windows 7 Ultimate. I wouldn't say that the fan is loud per say, but I notice it now compared to my old fanless card. It's not loud enough to drive you crazy, but it's definitely noticeable. I tried overclocking it once with Catalyst as well, and it pretty much crashed the computer. It was just for experimental purposes though, so I won't be doing that again. On Sundays, I've got about 4 Java tabs going from NFL dot com to track all the players on my fantasy football team. I've been doing this for years. Since I got the card, probably once every other week when I've got the tabs open, the browser becomes slightly garbled, and I'll lose signal to the monitor for a few seconds, then it comes back and works fine. I thought that was strange, but not really a big deal. As far as the rebate is concerned, I was really excited about it. The online registration was quick and easy. I mailed in the UPC and form and got a confirmation e-mail quickly as well. I did the rebate the first week of October, however I have yet to get it. Everything seemed so promising and easy, but nothing in the mail so far. I'll probably have to follow up with that soon. If you are looking for a cheap video card with a good price after rebate, I would recommend this one. Just don't expect it to be absolutely perfect or silent. Definitely choose this one over the X-FI one that goes on sale periodically for $9.99. That one is pretty much trash. Last edited by aznnp77; 12-20-2012 at 08:07 AM.. |
