Outside of the daily deal, Applebees is already doing this instore and online.
EDIT: $10 bonus not $10 off.
Actually, Applebee's current GC promo is that you have to buy $50 worth of GC's to get a $10 bonus...so in essence $60 worth of food for $50. The $10 bonus is only good for a little while after the holidays though.
I work there to have a break from being a stay at home mommy.
Oh and the food isn't that bad-- the Pretzel with Beer Cheese Dip app is awesome! Napa Chicken and Portobello is getting rave reviews from customers too!
Every single time a deal comes up for fast food or a chain restaurant like this the a-holes come out in force. Guess what, people who will buy this couldn't give a crap about your opinion. You only clicked on it to be a douche bag. Bravo, you can hold your head high today because you made a quirky comment about a restaurant you don't like.
As others have said, this could be had for effectively $38 if you factor in the $10 Target GC and use their RedCard. A slightly better deal if you're going to Target anyway or need one fairly soon.

This is capitalism, you are either rich and awesome or poor and a statistic.
Heh heh...I'm not a food snob by any stretch but in this case based on my experience I completely agree. The worst dining experience I ever had was at an applebee's. Used to absolutely LOVE going there for their happy hour wings during grad school. Their wings were phenomenal. Decided to stop there for dinner with the family one time and I kid you not the food was inedible. I'm not sure what the hell they did but it was absolutely disgusting. Fast foward two years later and the family stops on the way back from vacation at another Applebee's. Same experience---the brocolli was so mushy that I still convulse when I think about it.
Never been back since...and as far as chains go, I'd take a Perkins, Denny's or Elmers any day without thinking twice over an applebees (and they are crappy in their own right! )
i guess the problem is that then you'd have to actually eat there.... LOL

It's amazing that whenever this deal pops up, it's almost a guarantee that about half the posts will be from people who feel the need to bash or make jokes regarding Applebees and/or its food. Not sure I understand why all the hate... as restaurants go are they REALLY that much different from any other place in the same price range?
I think it's more than half this time around...

I don't think experience really matters for a president. My point is that you can't really use his own words from 4 years ago against him.

That would be your opinion. For the price my wife and I enjoy their 2 for $20 offer. Their steak, mashed potatoes, and veggies are excellent. Some of the other salads and food items are average in my opinion, but their steaks always moist and excellent. But just to affirm that I am not drinking all of their Kool-Aid, of the past eight times I have been their in the last year there was one time their food was not good. I ordered a medium steak that came out red and bleeding inside but looked fine outside. I sent it back once, absolutely no change when it came back. A third time I sent it back and it came back fully browned inside but had lost it's taste (probably from being microwaved). The manager promptly apologized and said the meal was on the house so I don't hold it against them.
