that's good for you if you like to settle for less. likewise i know people who would rather settle for mcdonalds vs real ground beef. the point is. it's apples and oranges what you are comparing to. $15 dollars a piece for plastic that's great. But that's absolutely not an alternative to this at all!! i would rather pay more and get something that's really sturdy. can the plastic one be sturdy too? sure if you're only going to put some cans of beans on it i guess.

Just letting people know.......... I don't see what's with everyone's sarcasm. If someone wants the metal one they buy that. If someone wants to save some they buy the plastic one. But I guess this website isn't about learning about choices and saving money.

I believe this is not full 'black". Like the previous deals its "anthracite", which was a cool dark greyish/steel color. It's not chrome, but still a nice color for the garage. Personally I like it better than chrome or full black.

I bought one last time and wanted one more and went back to their ebay store to buy few minutes ago. I thougt the price stayed through from 11/28 and learnt this is new deal after seeing this thread. Great Right on time. BTW, I needed to store heavy items and totally worth 3x price compared to the plastic one the other user mentioned above.

meh, I got a set of shelves at Sam's Club with the same dimensions, 6 shelves not 4, steel frame with coated wood shelves (solid, not wire like this one), no wheels, $59.99 and that's the every day price. There's no chance you're putting alot of weight on this thing without crushing the plastic wheels, and then the whole thing tips over and crashes.

Can that top shelf be brought down to actually put things on, or does it have to be at the top of the posts?

I thought that too, but then bought one to try. After seeing it ... I bought 2 more. They are definitely high quality and worth the price. And you dont have to use the Wheels if you dont want to. They have casters that come with it.

If you are used to the NSF quality versions of this type of shelving that was sold at Sams/Costco over the past decade, then you might be disappointed with this shelving... I purchased two of these the last time they were offered and they are not the high-quality, 600lb-shelf capacity ones sold at the clubs. In the buy.com ad, they state the total weight capacity w/casters is 1000lbs, but THE TOTAL WT CAPACITY IS ACTUALLY ONLY 500lbs. There is a lot of flex in the shelves, and will bend with any significant weight.

One of my units came with two shelves that were completely bowed. I contacted Buy.com and they said I would need to return the entire unit... The cost of return shipping would have been too high to bother. I was able to apply light pressure by standing on them and they flexed back enough so I could build the unit. If this had been one of my older Costco units, this repair would not have been possible...

I wish I had known this prior to buying, because I needed them for very heavy items...
