Update as of 14/12 11:00AM PST: Seems like they removed the credits from existing accounts and disabled the code (works only for new accounts)

$25 non-refundable application fee!!

Working Coupons as of 12/13/12 3:20PM Central :

FREE $75 : 75DEC12ZIP
FREE $25 : 25ZIPDEC12

TOTAL : $100 worth of FREE driving credits!!

Cashback: $18.80 at bigcrumbz but YMMV since a promotion is being used.

To add coupons : Go to Zipster -> Gift Certificates -> Redeem a Gift

Credit Expires Jan 12th 2013

Just as info, their rates is also 50% lower after 12:00-6:00 AM. Great for students going to cub foods or any 24 hours convenience stores

Thanks OP

EDIT: Found nothing is free in this world. $25 taken off from my account. #This_sucks :-[

had enough of zipcar, had to deal with their bad customer service and now they take my credit away.

Is city car share any better?
thinking of trying that instead when my zipcar membership runs out.

@HertzOnDemand sucks in California.

I have $40 in free never expiring credits that I can never use unless I want a Volt or Cruze.. No thanks.

Boo for zipcar who took away the credits!

But happy to find out about Hertz on Demand! Already signed up, and gonna toss in my zipcard for $75! Thanks a lot for the info!

i'm glad i looked into this more. would've otherwise just signed up for zipcar.

hertz looks so much better in comparison...

- no membership/application fee
- drop-off at any location
- free gps/bluetooth in car
- $250 insurance deductible vs. $750 for zipcar
- cheaper rates
- $10/$25/$75 promo credit (ZEWEB10/AMTRAK25/hand in competitor's card)

anyone who wants to find out more, here's a comparison chart

https://www.hertzondemand.com/About/Promotion

edit: someone here [dansdeals.com] says they were able to get $100 free credit from hertz. if anyone's interested, perhaps it's worth a look Smilie

What's best for a new customer? Zip car with the $100 or Hertz without it? I was thinking do zipcar with $100, then trade in the card for $75 at Hertz. Thoughts?
