The plastic remote on the other hand, is pretty scuffed up all over. My only gripes: - Annoying paper sticker that I had to scrape off the body - My PayPal payment email was automatically registered to their mailing list--removal takes up to ten days and they send out emails daily |

I missed this deal the first time. When Bionaire brought it back again I decided to buy one. The shipping was very speedy as I have already received the heater. The unit itself looks fine... no scratches as have been reported by some. The remote has just a small scratch or nick in the plastic here and there. Nothing too bad.
I am wondering if Bionaire brought this deal back because they were "restocked" by people who returned these heaters? That would explain the scratched units and/or remotes. I can live with the extremely minor scratching on the remote. But what has me worried is the power cord gets a little warm to the touch when the unit is heating. The warmth is definitely not from the heat the unit is producing as I placed the heater far from the outlet it was plugged into (facing away from the outlet of course). When in use the cord feels a bit warm (though certainly not hot) all the way back to the plug. I tried the unit with three different power outlets to be certain. Anyone else noticed this? I'll probably return the heater... better safe than sorry concerning a potential defective product that could be a fire hazard. Anyone familiar with Bionaire's return policy? I checked their website today and there was zero info about returns. Also of note was that Bionaire is no longer selling this particular heater. Which further has me wondering if it's a particularly well made model? However, most reviews of this heater are very favorable so perhaps the one I have is the exception rather than the rule. |
