Is this any good? Kinda mixed reviews. Gotta get a new home office chair.

Last month Costco had a mid level exec chair for $79.99, down from $99.99. I snoozed and missed it. Then my current chair took a dump. This is perfect for $50.

It looked like a great deal, so I ordered one. Easy enough to return if it isn't, but the two reviews were very positive. Hoping for the best... And it sure looks nice! Note the mixed reviews were for the original version, not the Crawley II.

Great Chair, Exceptionally Comfy, GREAT VALUE!
Pros: Quality, Functionality, Durability, thickness of seat and back padding, lumbar/lower back support, seatback taller than most executive chairs, bottom seat extends out more than most chairs, comfort, looks
Cons: strong "new chair" smell for 1st 48hrs
Size - 5 STARS!

1) The seatback is taller than most, and a perfect fit! Let me say this chair has a seatback that is 2-7 inches higher than the majority of executive highback style chairs at officemax. This is a good thing! I am 5'6 and have a relatively short torso (i'm all legs as they say), and the very top of this chair's seatback COMFORTABLY supports my neck and back of my head up to the level of my ears. Basically, it is a perfect fit for my 5'6" frame. Do keep in mind what I said before: THIS CHAIR has one of the tallest seatbacks of ALL the models available at Officemax. It seems to be able to very comfortably fit the average shorter frame like mine, to frames up to 6'4" (my brother).

2. Lumbar/Lower Back Support - Most executive style chair fail to offer any real support for the lower back, despite whatever claims might be made on the packaging. NOT THE CASE for this chair! I have sufferred from lower back issues all my life, and have tried many office chair styles to get some releif. I also tried all the display chairs at office max under $300 retail, and THIS chair was the only one under $200 that offered any real support for my lower back. DO NOT LET THE PICTURE FOOL YOU! Many of the other chairs I saw in the officemax ads appeared to have great lower back support and cushioning from thier pictures, but when I actually went to my local store and tried them out, no dice! They might have been suitable for someone without lower or upper back issues, but for me, I have a sensitive tush and back, so extra support, extra cushioning and padding that holds up after several hours of sitting is a must! THIS CHAIR DELIVERED on ALL COUNTS! Seat is very well padded (over-stuffed even...in a good way), the armrests are also well padded, and the lumbar support and back of shoulders areas are padded enough to give more than adequate support, but soft and plush enough to feel like a down-filled pillow!

3. The Seat Size! Like the seatback, the bottom seat part is also extends out for additionall back-of-knee support that many of the other chairs in this price range. The thickness and quality of the padding also seems to be more substantial than many (if not all) other executive syle chairs under $200 at officemax.
Softness & Feel of covering material - 5 STARS! Feels and looks like super soft-luxurious leather. Very nice on skin, and unlike the "Brenkland and Finnigan executive chair models" that have a plastic sticky feel against the skin (and causes sweating!), this chair feels natural and not plasitic-like. Looks great as well! THE PICTURES DONT DO IT JUSTICE!

ONLY CON: STRONG CHEMICAL SMELL for first 48 hrs (MINUS 1 STAR)

just ordered it. It's def still alive. I've had this chair before and will say it's not the greatest so don't expect it to last forever like the more expensive ones, but for $50 it's a steal
