A livingsocial deal for Sony Music Unlimited. It is normally $10 a month.

I haven't used the service, but I have spotify, which is amazingly useful for me. I'm sure tons of people will say they can just download the music for free off bittorrent or usenet, but if you want to at least support the artists in the tiniest bit, use a service like this.

I searched on their website and found every artist/song I searched for (at least that was on any other streaming service).

I'm sticking with Spotify, only because I use it often in XBMC, but this service looks like it would work pretty good if you have a PS3 in the living room.

Has iphone/android apps.

edit: Can buy 1 for yourself and 1 as a gift. I'm not sure if it will then be able to stack for a whole year for $20, but someone braver than I can try.

Once you purchase this sub it will say it's unavailable on the PS Store. So.. no.
Ah, I guess there's no way around getting a deal for more than a year so I'll just purchase it soon. I just don't want to pay the $60 after, but I might think it's worth it after relying on it for so long. Thanks for the heads up!

Who knows hopefully in a years time they'll offer it to plus subscribers for that price again. All we can do is hope Big Grin or switch to spotify.............. hehe

I think Grooveshark is a strong alternative to this one and it is also completely free.

Spotify has a free version too, but it's the mobile and ad free ones that cost

For mobile Grooveshark is $9/month, which is considerably more than this deal

Was slow for me when mobile but that was when I used 3G, now I am on 4G (both Verizon)

I'll prob give them another look if this doesn't work out but just tested out SMU and its not too bad def with the app in the notifications (Android 4.1) which is nice nod
(don't see where u can make playlists so that could be a neg but owell.. for $12 a yr, sure beats Spotify bounce)

How to browse their catalog? I can't find a way anywhere.
https://music.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/
or download the app and you can browse the whole catalog and listen to 30 second track samples.

Anybody know what the bitrate of tracks is that are downloaded for offline listening? I read a review saying the streaming was only 48kbps....that's awful. If the download tracks aren't at least 128kpbs Sony won't even get $10 out of me for 6 months.

Well, for $60/year, it's still cheaper than spotify's $10/month! But I agree with others in the page, the UI is not very good and I want a desktop app for my mac so I can use my keyboard controls!

I just bought this deal.. I have an existing subscription to sony music unlimed Premium that just expired. I applied the voucher code according to the instructions on Living Social and it worked without issues... 6 months renewal for my existing account!

I read that if you are a current subscriber, that it converts your account to 6-month paid.. so be careful if you already have an active subscription... sounds like it might not stack? Can anyone confirm that they've redeemed two of these codes?

Pros: Tons of music (comparable to Spotify for me, haven't found a song I don't like, but I'm not a hipster. WAY cheaper than Spotify. (Possible Con?) No social media integration.

Let's be honest, no social media integration is a pro. Just admit it.
Ha! I agree. Like I really give a crap that you're listening to the new Bruno Mars track on FB feed.

Does the Sony service come with any downloads? I already have a rhapsody which is awesome but it doesn't have any downloads.

I'm pretty sure you can pull any track "offline" and download it and listen to it if you're not online. I haven't tried it because I'm always online.. but I know that there's an option like that.

Got this for 8 dollars using PARENTS1, 4% cash back using e-bates and also I think I qualified for the 25 dollars living social bucks for using the V payment system from visa. Not a bad deal. I cancelled my spotify subscription to test this out.

I like to know this too if it stacks. I got the 6 month deal, but I'd like to get the 1 year for $12 deal as well and hopefully get an extra year on top of it.

No songs/albums from QUEEN?!?!?! Oh come on.... =(

I found Sony's catalogue to be very limited, and the sound quality lacking.
