Is it just me or is Nikon unloading a bunge of mid-range gear as of late? I wonder if there is something really cool on the horizon...perhaps a new line of equipment with "touch panel" "wifi, cloud, bluetooth", etc enhancements?

In case you are considering selling the lenses here is a quick breakdown based on Amazon pricing:
24-85 mm VR: ~ $600 70-300 mm VR: ~$590 Perhaps realistically if you were to sell them on ebay or craiglist at 15% off, the body and the rest of the items could potentially be $1,300. Not too bad, except that's before tax. |

Costco Executive Members get 2% back as rebates: $47.80
Costco TrueEarnings cardholders get additional 1% back: $23.90 Amex offers: $25 statement credit back off costco.com orders over $100: $25 If you qualify for all of those you save an additional $96.7 Takes the edge off the tax bill I guess. |

This is a great deal IF you want the 70-300, if you don't, you might recoup 50-75 bucks over the other deals selling the 70-300 -Mike

currently have the D7000 and already have 70-300. I just want the full frame body! pairing this with 24-70 and 85 1.4 would be magical!

OK, this is getting interesting. I'm going to hold off and see if Adorama, Amazon, BH Photo will come up with cheaper bundles.

$167 in sales tax and having to sell two lenses instead of one doesn't justify my buying from Costco. This kit costs $400 more plus the sales tax makes it $560 more...cant get that much selling the second lens. I was able to get 3% cashback with Mr. Rebates and 4% through the adorama VISA promotion making the Adorama deal even better.
