Starving Artist Painting Sale

hiawan 359 52 December 14, 2012 at 10:44 AM
I used to see ads on TV of painting sales in NJ. They would have sales usually in hotels for paintings of various sizes, the largest being the size of a sofa and the most expensive was $49. Has anyone ever been to this type of sale? When is the next one in NJ/PA area? Is this the best deal for paintings?

There's one tomorrow (1/13/13) in various locations in ny and nj. I recently visited a relative and complimented their art and they told us they got them at one of these expos. Sounds like a great deal to me!

Local art associations have these all the time. The works range from master to student quality. Alot of colleges with art programs have these types of sales 2x-4x a year also.

Complete crap - the 'starving artists' are all sweatshop workers overseas - I would NOT recommend that you give them any of your money.

Are you just looking for a decoration to hang on the wall, or are you actually looking for some real art?

Try Marshalls, TJ Maxx, etc - they sometimes have a decent selection of pieces.
