Very few of the delivery trucks I have seen use gasoline.

I am using "gasoline" as general term for all fuel. I know that gasoline and diesel are different.

So let me rephrase my original statement if that will help make my position just a little clearer to you:

FUEL is a critical component of commerce. Restrictions on its purchase/ownership would negatively effect commerce. Banning it would result in complete societal collapse.

Banning guns would not result in complete societal collapse.
