Slickdeals App for iPhone & iPod Touch Free

i like the slickdeals app that's in the android market just fine. who needs the "official" app and who wants to wait around for these guys to deem android worthy to develop it. pffff pathetic

This should be free anyways cause the app on iOS kinda sucks...can't even give reps on the thing.

An application furnished by Slickdeals would enable the company to publish exclusive features and/or content unavailable to independent application authors. In addition, it would also prevent problems and/or risks encountered with a unauthorized third party handling the deployment of their content to mobile users.

Slickdeals is a business and allocated their app development resources to their primary audience (which they stated was the majority of mobile traffic analyzed on their site which happened to be iOS devices).

Saying it's pathetic is a bit much, however they're experiencing a disconnection with some of their audience with the lack of an official mobile application for Android devices, but there's always the mobile version of the website for an 'official' method of access.

serious question, is this app better than iSlick? I'm not really convinced..

For such a large website, I would agree its pretty lame that their software developers haven't got around to Android yet. They could easily outsource this type of work if they wanted to.

My local bank has apps for both Android and iOS

I have Android and would love to use slickdeals with it instead of using my desktop computer.

Just because you have horrible mobile website that we don't like to use doesn't justify not developing a dedicated app for Android!

- Edit: I read a few pages back and it looks like the Android app is in internal testing phase, hopefully Slickdeals will release it soon and start serving the real majority of it's users...

I don't like either app. I access SD only on my iPad anyway and use SD live on Safari.

I can't give reps or thumb up/down threads on the mobile site. I can't attach pics on the mobile site either. The mobile site can't add a widget for whatever purpose or give you deal alerts quicker.

If the app is more functional, great. If not, then I agree with you.

There are some things you can do on an app that you can't do on a mobile site such as push notification.
