good price, the same price last year when it was on FP. The only draw back was the color. I like red but not for this computer.

Did you want a whole flash movie? I don't recall it was lagged after upgrading to 4GB and SSD...

Inside the C-70 two Bobcat cores can access 512KB level 2 cache per core. In comparison to the Atom processors, the Bobcat architecture uses an "out-of-order" execution and is therefore faster at the same clock speed. However, the performance is far worse than similar clocked Penryn (Celeron) or Danube (Athlon II) cores.
the C-70 should be comparable to the C-60, so don't expect much more.

just 720p youtube streaming stuttered for me. 480p streams stuttered for me even, which was the reason why i sold it. i had an SSD in it, but flash doesn't rely so much on hard drive as it does the CPU.

AO722 w/c-50, 4gigs of ram and 120ssd.
The machine is running at least 10 hours a day for the past 2 years, its been great.
Someone mentioned shuddering when streaming, my 2 year old watches 480i youtube videos on it, and I have never noticed any shudder.

I'm really intrigued and want to jump, but the stuttering flash that's been mentioned is worrisome. Would like to hear more reviews to the contrary.

i would also like to know how this c70 fares..

i've been using a c50 since that old $250 (w/$50 GC at Target) deal for a similar acer netbook/laptop.

i know there were similar deals for a c60 version, but the difference wasn't too much..

if there is any noticeable difference, i may have to jump..

good deal OP
haha, I have the C-50 as well for a year, just sold it to someone for $200 couple months ago because I don't need it, thought I can use a (motorola) Xoom when I travel, oh boy was I wrong.
anyways, something came up and I needed to get a small netbook or ultrabook with 200GB of storage, been looking all night, almost pulled the trigger on the $500 Asus ultrabook at MS store, good thing OP posted, I'll probably only use it few times a month when I do diagnostic work on the cars, so no need for a super fast machine, so my wallet thanks the OP!
the C-60/C70 IS in fact faster, but it's still slow, earlier this year I put in a OCZ Vertex Plus SSD(60GB) and the improvement is minimal, maybe cut the boot up time from 1 minute down to 45~50 seconds, the CPU is simply the bottleneck here.
also OP, the price is $198, not $199, lol
