I had an issue with the Panasonic VIERA TC-P60U50 that I ordered from Amazon. I paid $768 for the Panasonic. The item arrived with a cracked screen and they do not have any others to replace it with. They are offering me the Samsung UN60EH6000 for $900. Is that a good buy or should I hold off for the Panasonic to come back in stock?
If you wait enough, it will go back down to this price or lower. I see that Sundays are when prices usually change. (unless there is a special event like black friday, day after christmas sale, etc)
So after some research, it looks like all 60" panels are supplied from sharp since I saw some higher end 60" samsung smart TVs on AVS forums also had the same panel.
I didn't realize that my 2nd tv could only get SD broadcasted from my Dish Network receiver. Probably the reason why it is so crappy. When I hooked up the roku, the picture quality looked a lot nicer (USB media also). I need to eventually bring the TV upstairs and test its picture quality to be certain though since I think the SD on TV2 is worse than SD on TV1 too...
I called AAFES and they price matched this TV including shipping. The best part is no tax and I can return it at the local exchange if I do not like it or a better deal comes along at Super Bowl time (30 day return policy).
My old 65" Projection just died, so this will be a good upgrade.
