Turning Amazon Gift Cards into Cash????

I'm sitting on $1,500 in $50 amazon e-codes and am wondering if there's any way other than Ebay/CL to turn them into cash at a rate at least somewhat close to 1:1

Probably spend $1,500 at amazon in a year but would prefer having the flexibility of cash in hand now.

can you buy amazon gc with amazon gc anymore? you could use as gifts in whatever increments you want. Essentially same as cash since you would be doing this instead of spending the cash. Otherwise, unless you actually need the cash so you do not default on payments, I would just keep them instead of taking a 10% hit on selling them.
Save them to preorder xbox 720 or the new PS

hmm wish i could try to buy them from you discounted, but we cant. ggrrrrrrr rules. i do know there are website thats will pay you a percentage of the worth. i think for a 50 amazon gc you would get like 41.00. if your interested let me know i will go and get the site for you

I'm not sure but I think you can use them to pay your amazon pay.
I kind of rememberer it should be just like paying amazon pay with a gift card. You start and check pay with cc and change it to the GC or ? maybe EGC.

As I read it I think it works When you say send yourself a payment you have to fund it. If you use the e card it should be good.

Hmmmm this is interesting.... I read it the same way as you but I can't for the life of me figure out how to actually do this on Amazon Payments. Can't seem to fund the account with a gift card and can't send money with a gift card balance, only credit cards.

Has anyone out there done this successfully?

I haven't done it yet but am building my info base on some of these different options.
When I replied to you I had remembered reading it on the Amazon site and went back and hunted it up.
I didn't find exactly what I had seen but when you go to do it it was that you had to go to the change CC and add a CC. The add was the gift card. Let me know if that does it.Or we could drop the question to Amazon. They are good responding to stuff.

I went into amazon and my account(signed in) and went to help/contact us. Clked that and it has it rt there.
Your Account > Apply a Gift Card to Your Account

hmm I think that might just be to apply a gift card to your standard amazon account. Here's what I got back from emailing them:

Hello,

You can transfer funds from your Amazon Payments balance to your Amazon.com gift card balance. These funds are applied directly to the Amazon.com gift card account with the same login information as your Amazon Payments account.

However, you cannot transfer an Amazon.com gift card balance to fund an Amazon Payments account balance, because Amazon.com gift cards are specifically designed to only be able to be applied to an Amazon.com account so they can be used to make purchases directly on Amazon.com.
