Pin number worked as top up on existing account
Was the PIN on a separate card? I got my package, but it was just the SIM. There is a scratch off for the SIM for activation, but not sure if the PIN is there too.

The discount code seems to take off only 24.99 if I put a sim and $40 topup in the cart - so is this dead now?

It's $20 so $24.99 is the correct discount... What do you expect the total to be?

The cheapest GSM BYOD i know is not PTEL. It is also a TMobile MVNO. It is spotmobile. You can stay for $20 for whole year with their $5 recharge which last for 90 days.

That's only if you barely use your phone at all. Spotmobile costs 10 cents per minute, double that of Ptel's.

I ordered a SPOT mobile micro sim and am waiting for it to arrive to port my number from T-Mobile. Posted some links here:

http://slickdeals.net/f/5756302-Spot-Mobile-T-Mobile-MVNO-Unlimited-Talk-Text-and-500MB-of-unthrottled-4G-for-39-95-a-month?v=1&p=56465566#post56465566

Offers double the 4g data before throttling of Ptel for the same price...

I thought they were doing away with Paygo...looks like they've just changed it so you need new phone. Cool my daughter had this for a year and it works great!

Any suggestions on a decent phone w/ a keyboard that would be compatible? It doesn't need to be the latest and greatest... Thanks

This is an OK deal Telna is a bit better at $20 a year 1000 free texts a month 8 cents a minute for voice but still better than this... if this used att it'd be a better deal. I'd be on it if ting didn't give me $50 credit. Telna is better if your a texter.

Just get a SIM cutter off Amazon, they're like $4. I've used mine like 3 times already trying different prepaid carriers, it's worth it. Cut 2 SIMs from P-Tel just fine.

I've been using Simple Mobile the past 4 months and couldn't be happier. It's also a T-Mobile reseller. Similar plan of $40 for unlimited talk, text and web. First 250 mb of data is at 4G assuming you have a 4G phone and the rest is throttled to 3G afterwards. I started with an unlocked iPhone 3G and then switched to a Samsung Galaxy. Great service and callingmart always has a monthly discount code for Simple Mobile so I usually wind up paying about $38 per month.
