I would be patient and wait for Galaxy S3 or Note 2 price to drop once iPhone comes out for TMO.
Yeah, surely the GS3 or Note 2 will drop down to $150 without contract.

I gave up, couldn't check out.
Anyone knows if I can buy it in store?
From my research, in-store the phone is $199, but the pre-paid card isn't free, and is also required in order to get the phone for $199. So the total price will be $249 in store.

The g2x is a god awful phone, so I would say yes.
Although, I wouldn't buy another LG just on principal.
Really long story short, my GF has gone through 3 different g2x's and a plethora of factory resets, all to no avail.
Every phone had constant freezing issues as well as spontaneous reboots.
Thanks for replying. I've had the lg g2x for almost a year, and since I rooted it and loaded cyanogenmod 7 there have been no real problems. Aside from the weight, I really liked the form factor of the phone and wouldn't call it god awful Smilie I did find that making sure to reboot the phone daily helped a lot too. Are you against the lg nexus 4 as well? (edit) sorry, this is a thread for the L9, didn't mean to get off topic.

same here...i called them and they said there's a hold on my account...
they told me to purchase in store...
I tried to pay with my AMEX, and it failed as it looks like it has for several others. However, one minute later I received an account alert from AMEX, requesting I log into my AMEX account and check on possible fraudulent activity. Sure enough, T-Mobile had been flagged as such.

Anyway, I cleared it on my AMEX account, tried to order again, and it went through.

I hope this helps someone.

a $150 LG G9 is a better deal than the 8gb Nexus 4 I think. It may have twice the ram and twice the cores but its not twice as fast though, and unless youre really into the most demanding android games on your phone or benchmarking, its not going to matter that much.
By the time the G9 gets outdated theres going to be better phones out to pick from, possibly the flexible display phones a few manufacturers are working on.
I disagree, even with daily tasks, sometimes the dual core will lag a little, sometimes they lag a lot. This is from a dual core Note with custom rom at that. So the 4 cores are important.

My guess would that its not as popular of a phone as others (it seems like everyone either has a nexus device or a gs3/gn2) so the developer community is not as vibrant.

I can think of a few reasons. Maybe LG didn't release some codes or specs for the hardware or the stock rom is already good enough so not much improvement is needed, unlike the crippled but capable exhibit 4g and similar phones.

listen, I dont give a flying fark what you think. I get that all around my town.

why would I care what you think about my download speed, it doesn't equal my dick size LMAO

ill post these all day, you wont believe me though

this guy gets better speeds than me

It is really sad when I have faster data on my T-Mobile HTC One S (around 18mbps) than my home internet ATT Uverse (12mbps) all the while my Uverse home internet is more expensive.

I get 30 Mbps down with comcast but it is expensive but I get 250 GB a month and only 5 GB with tmobile.

if I ever go over 5 GB a month on Tmobile I will just lay it down til new cycle hits, because it crawls at edge speeds

I am taking these speedtests in my home. If I go outside I get better ping results and higher uploads as well.

A lot of apps cant take advantage of the extra cores though. The Nexus 4 is definitely a faster phone, but Im not seeing the value in twice the price. Plus the 8gb storage limitation is a major flaw.

think about it though, cell phones do very little. the screen is too small to enjoy video, the phone is too big as an mp3 player and some say the radiation from the earbuds is intense for the brain, and things can wait til you get to a PC, laptop or tablet.

I see people blowing $700 on Note 2 laugh out loud

Definitely, that the 8GB is a big draw back. This whole cloud BS gone too far.

I currently am using this phone and I noticed that I cannot move apps to the SD card even after rooting. The option isn't available in the settings like it is in other phones. Tried apps like app2sd and still wont work. The 1.8gb fills up fast without being able to install apps on the SD card.
